Sakamoto Days: an anime with very good comedy and a large dose of action
Hello, friends of Hive! Today I come to talk to you about an anime that I enjoyed a lot last season. I was very attentive to it, so much so that every Saturday I looked forward to the new chapter. At the beginning, I have to admit that maybe it was not so much to my liking, because sometimes what happened felt exaggerated, both in the fights and in the comedy. However, as it progressed, the anime took on a more serious tone that I liked more and more.
Also, I went back to a genre that I had a bit abandoned, such as assassins. I think the last one I had seen was Assassination Classroom, although, to be honest, I don't remember much about it. I'm not a big fan of the genre either, but what really encouraged me to watch it were people's opinions, saying that the manga was great and had spectacular fights. I had to check it out: could it be true? Could it be a lie? I couldn't leave myself in doubt, although that also generated criticism from the public. But I don't want to get more entangled, so let's talk about fatty Sakamoto and his grocery store.
The anime puts us in the shoes of Sakamoto, known in his guild as the legendary assassin, an invincible who would make anyone tremble. However, our story is not about that Sakamoto, but about one who has left his past behind. He is now married and has retired from the trade to focus on his family and his grocery store. But there is one unbreakable rule: once you're a killer, you can't quit. The only way out is death, so Sakamoto will have to face various enemies who want to finish him off.
All this chaos begins with the arrival of Shin, a former colleague of Sakamoto with the ability to read minds. His mission is to get Sakamoto back in business or kill him if he refuses. In the end, Shin fails and ends up working in Sakamoto's store. Over time, Sakamoto's team grows (joining members of the mafia and even a sniper), forming a family with a single rule: no killing, while facing adversity.

So far, we only have 11 chapters, which serve as an introduction to the upcoming arc. For the moment, the plot focuses more on comedy, but as it progresses, it takes on a more serious tone, especially with the appearance of the main villain in the last chapters (who, I assume, will not be the final boss). Before facing him, we will have to deal with the “semi-bosses” that appeared in the last episode.
The characters are very varied, with marked and easily identifiable personalities. The fight scenes do not stand out for their animation, but the choreographies are well done. One of my favorites is Shin disguised as a rabbit fighting an assassin who wanted to eliminate Sakamoto. Another striking aspect is the color palette: very vibrant, but it gets darker at serious moments, reflecting the constant switching between action and comedy. I liked the comedy a lot, although I didn't find the nosebleed mobster funny.

In conclusion, I hope the second part comes soon to see how this battle is resolved. I hope they don't extend the plot for a second season, because then it would lose interest. For now, everything is very entertaining and enjoyable, although I feel that this anime has gone a bit unnoticed. I thought it would be more popular, but apparently in Japan it is a hit and is on the charts.
Of course, I don't forget the criticisms I mentioned at the beginning: some fans say that the animation doesn't do justice to the manga. I can't confirm this, as I've only seen the anime, and overall it looks good to me. I suspect that most viewers are readers of the manga. In any case, I hope that in the next part, if they focus on fights, the animation will be up to par. In the meantime, we'll have to wait and see what happens.

¡Hola, amigos de Hive! Hoy les vengo a hablar de un anime que disfruté mucho la temporada pasada. Estuve muy pendiente de él, tanto que cada sábado esperaba con ansias el nuevo capítulo. Al principio, he de admitir que quizás no era tanto de mi agrado, porque en ciertas ocasiones lo que ocurría se sentía exagerado, tanto en las peleas como en la comedia. Sin embargo, conforme avanzaba, el anime fue tomando un tono más serio que me gustó cada vez más.
Además, volví a un género que tenía un poco abandonado, como es el de asesinos. Creo que el último que había visto era Assassination Classroom, aunque, siendo sincero, no recuerdo mucho del tema. Tampoco es que sea un gran aficionado al género, pero lo que realmente me animó a verlo fueron las opiniones de la gente, que decían que el manga era buenísimo y tenía peleas espectaculares. Tenía que comprobarlo: ¿será verdad? ¿Será mentira? No podía quedarme con la duda, aunque eso también generó críticas por parte del público. Pero no quiero enredarme más, así que hablemos del gordito Sakamoto y su tienda de víveres.
El anime nos pone en la piel de Sakamoto, conocido en su gremio como el asesino legendario, un invencible que haría temblar a cualquiera. Sin embargo, nuestra historia no trata de ese Sakamoto, sino de uno que ha dejado atrás su pasado. Ahora está casado y se ha retirado del oficio para centrarse en su familia y en su tienda de víveres. Pero hay una regla inquebrantable: una vez que eres asesino, no puedes dejarlo. La única salida es la muerte, por lo que Sakamoto tendrá que enfrentarse a diversos enemigos que quieren acabar con él.
Todo este caos comienza con la llegada de Shin, un excompañero de Sakamoto con la habilidad de leer la mente. Su misión es hacer que Sakamoto regrese al negocio o matarlo si se niega. Al final, Shin fracasa y termina trabajando en la tienda de Sakamoto. Con el tiempo, el equipo de Sakamoto crece (uniéndose miembros de la mafia e incluso un francotirador), formando una familia con una única regla: no matar, mientras se enfrentan a las adversidades.

Hasta ahora, solo tenemos 11 capítulos, que sirven como introducción al arco que viene. Por el momento, la trama se centra más en la comedia, pero a medida que avanza, va adoptando un tono más serio, especialmente con la aparición del villano principal en los últimos capítulos (que, supongo, no será el jefe final). Antes de enfrentarlo, habrá que lidiar con los "semi-jefes" que aparecieron en el último episodio.
Los personajes son muy variopintos, con personalidades marcadas y fácilmente identificables. Las escenas de pelea no destacan por su animación, pero las coreografías están bien logradas. Una de mis favoritas es la de Shin disfrazado de conejo luchando contra un asesino que quería eliminar a Sakamoto. Otro aspecto llamativo es la paleta de colores: muy vibrante, pero que se oscurece en momentos serios, reflejando el cambio constante entre acción y comedia. La comedia me gustó mucho, aunque el mafioso que sangraba por la nariz no me pareció divertido.

En conclusión, espero que la segunda parte llegue pronto para ver cómo se resuelve esta batalla. Ojalá no alarguen la trama para una segunda temporada, porque ahí perdería interés. Por ahora, todo es muy entretenido y disfrutable, aunque siento que este anime ha pasado un poco desapercibido. Pensé que sería más popular, pero al parecer en Japón es un éxito y está en las listas de popularidad.
Eso sí, no olvido las críticas que mencioné al principio: algunos fans dicen que la animación no le hace justicia al manga. Yo no puedo confirmarlo, pues solo he visto el anime, y en general me parece bien. Sospecho que la mayoría de los espectadores son lectores del manga. En cualquier caso, espero que en la próxima parte, si se centran en peleas, la animación esté a la altura. Mientras tanto, habrá que esperar a ver qué pasa.

Este es de mis favoritos de la temporada pasada. Me gustó mucho la excelente mezcla de humor con acción desmedida y sobreproporcional a lo que las leyes de la física pueden calcular. El personaje de Sakamoto Taro es excelente como protagonista por lo poderoso e impredecible que es al momento de pelear y los demás personajes están bien desarrollados. La animación es excelente, única en su estilo a pesar de la poca fluidez que mucha gente dice que no tiene.
Pero de eso a que tenga una mala animación es exagerar bastante, más si tomamos en cuenta el reciente caso de TBATE que supuestamente iba a ser igual o mejor que Solo Leveling y su primer episodio fue una patada en las partes bajas de cualquier amante de la buena animación (muchos se arrepintieron de todo lo malo que le dijeron a Bind con Mushoku Tensei en su momento).
En este caso, el comparar Sakamoto Days con animes similares como Spy x Family es perder únicamente por su diferencia en cuanto a animación, pero esto no quita que en particular sea una buena obra disfrutable para todo el público.

¿En serio llegaron a decir que Bind con Mushoku Tensei tenía mala animación algunas personas? Tengo entendido que ese estudio se hizo específicamente al momento del lanzamiento para hacer ese anime. Por eso la primera temporada tiene una calidad abismal que no es normal.
Y sí, Sakamoto Days no tendrá de las mejores animaciones de la industria pero es totalmente disfrutable y no vemos dibujos deformes en ningún momento, que sí es algo que pudiese entorpecer el visionado del anime.
Bueno, exageré, lo dijeron con su segunda temporada. Y si, es curioso incluso que Bind empezó a trabajar de forma independiente como estudio con Mushoku Tensei y que hubiera hecho tan buen trabajo que ahora mismo se estime demasiado. Actualmente hay muchos estudios de animación nuevos que empiezan también con proyectos Isekais y similares y ofrecen una calidad muy mediocre. Ese es el caso de TBATE que no sé qué estudio esté a cargo, pero de que estén haciendo un trabajo que destaque lo dudo mucho.
En cuanto a Sakamoto Days es un buen anime, independiente hablando. Es entretenido, divertido y disfrutable de ver. No es la gran cosa, pero tampoco hay que descatimar su valor por hacer comparaciones. Ya de por sí las comparaciones nunca ayudan en lo absurdo si no es estrictamente necesario.
Estamos en la misma, amigo. Yo también esperaba todos los sábados, me tenia enganchado. Y por desgracia, tendremos que esperar hasta julio para mas capítulos.
Yo también leí algunas criticas sobre la animación, pero no las entiendo. Yo no noté una baja calidad en este aspecto. Y eso que soy bastante observador.
Supongo que a la gente le gusta quejarse por quejarse.

Es que la animación es bastante buena, no noté que en ningún momento bajara de calidad, lo que lo hacía bastante entretenido, además que los personajes que han aparecido hasta ahora, son muy buenos, menos el mafioso que no me gusta

I've seen its art style in manga and it's something that the anime failed to emulate fully. The fight scenes there were so well drawn, but anyway, the anime was still enjoyable tho. I haven't finished it yet because the last time I watched an episode of it is it still airing, so maybe one of these days I'll see if I can finally finish it. Btw, thanks for sharing...this review really reminded me to binge-watch it soon~
I think I'm going to have to take a look at the manga, to see what I'm missing, I've already seen many opinions saying it's superior.
It's definitely a must! Some of the character designs in the anime weren't that fully the same because it's really hard to constantly animate such details, but still the anime did well based on the episodes I've seen...Well, it's not new that the manga is superior to the anime adaptation, but I guess it won't matter much if you're really into it.
I'll see how about the manga, because when I looked up the manga I found Shin wanting to kill someone, so I was serious about the plot, I don't know why I thought of opening the last chapter instead of continuing where the anime leaves off, hahaha.
Ahhh hahaha a major temptation indeed! It's really tempting to skip to the latest chapters but trust me you'll also wonder why things turned out that way, and then you'll be interested to read the previous chapters 𓁹‿𓁹 ʰᵉʰ
