I wake up in my bed

The doctor just left 3 hours ago. She gave me two injections, antibiotics and painkillers.
Even though it was just a nap, it was the best sleep I got in the last 7 days.
I am in a foreign country and silly as I was, I thought my sickness will go away if I just rest. It did not. But that is in the past. I feel better now.

Sitting up in bed

I listen to the calming sound of the rain.
Fighting the temptation to lay down again and close my eyes, knowing this is my last chance to see the world on this day.
Tomorrow is a new day, but I will never know what the world had to offer on this day if I do not look out for it.

I am standing oddly next to my bed. An old antenna and some satellite dishes are staring back. The sky glooms in the background, but it might be gone at any moment.
