Scutelleridae are brightly colored because they are also commonly known as jewel bugs.Their bellies and wings are very stiff and they are also known as seal-supported bugs. due to the enlargement of the thoracic scutellum which is constantly sealed.These insects feed on the sap of different species of plants, including different crops. And they are closely related to foul-smelling bugs. They create an aggressive smell when disturbed in any way. There are about 450-455 species in the world.
