Garfield Park conservatory in Chicago

These are just some of my favorite photos from the visit to the Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago. This is the 3rd largest indoor garden Conservatory in the world and admission is free!

This fountain is created in a traditional eleventh century Moorish technique with handmade terra cotta tiles called “zellij”. I loved the shadows cast by roof of the Conservatory, too!

Just to give you an idea of the massive size of this place the Palm House is 65 ft high and 90 ft wide, and is the largest room in the Conservatory. It features more than 70 palms, as well as other plants from warm habitats all around the world.

That's it for today, but there are many more pictures from the Conservatory that I would like to share! Next plant and flower post will be photos from the Desert House.

I was not able to think that much even after you called it the third largest in the world, mainly because I've never seen an indoor garden. But I am totally surprised to see this indoor palm tree. This garden is not just big but massive!
And all those flowers, that giant leaf... It's so good!😊🤗

I've been to many indoor gardens, but you are right, this one is massive. Is there one near you that you could visit? I know how much you enjoy plants.

After reading your comment, I Googled it and guess what, there is no indoor garden like this not only in New Delhi but probably in the whole of India. And maybe it exists somewhere but I couldn't find any information about it even after searching with different keywords.
We have indoor plants but no indoor garden! 😅😅

I suppose it makes sense that most glass house gardening is done in cold weather counties. The two biggest conservatories are in the UK.

Maybe you are right, it must have some connection with weather and temperature. As far as I know, indoor plants grow only at a fairly balanced temperature.

admission is free

Free is good! I love the flowers. And the shadow of the roof structure in front of the Moorish fountain is really cool. At first look, I thought it was a reflecting pool in front of the fountain.

Hello @melinda010100
How great to have such a large nursery, surprising that it is the third largest in the world. No wonder they have so many beautiful plants.

It is true that to have a good time and a good life, we have to love trees and flowers in the same way as they are very good for our health.
