How I Celebrated Mother's Day

Hi everyone! This is actually my first post here in this great community of mothers here on Hive. Though I've been around Hive for quite sometime. I thought of sharing this here since we just celebrated Mother's day days ago.

As a little info about me, I am stay-at-home mom of three girls. I've stayed home ever since our first child was born in 2012. No regrets whatsoever. I've got to witness all of their milestones. And I am glad I am able to.

Mother's Day Celebration

Since Mother's day is on a Sunday, we got to celebrate it with other mothers at our church. During the Sunday Service, our children together with other children in our congregation sang a song dedicated to all the mothers present.

Watching and hearing the children sing reminded me of how important a role of a mother in a child's life. How her influence can create a great impact on their lives. It also made me reflect if I am doing my best as a mother to our children? Their presentation made me and other mothers in the hall teary eyed. We were touched by the lyrics of the song. At the end of their singing, they showed a photo of their mothers and so did our girls.

I took a photo before they started singing.

A family picture after the Sunday Service (first hour).

For the second hour of church service we have individuals class for men, women, youth and children. After class here comes the men with roses, chocolates and a card for their wives and mothers.

My husband joined the singing of course. As you can see in the video, many were already eating and getting food. 😀😂 Before the men arrived, we already started eating the potluck food brought by church members. I brought dessert by the way. We had two Lechon (roasted pig) 😀 and many more! There was a lot of food for everybody to share.

We were crowded in a small room because another group was using the building's cultural hall. But we were able to manage anyway.

Mothers felt loved and honored on this day. Though I always feel that I am loved even if it's not Mother's Day. 😊

We were all filled both with love and the sumptuous food!

With my dear husband, Arjay.

Card, Rose, Chocolates and scented candle. Gifts I received. Not to mention the cookies I received later in the evening.

Sharing to you the handwritten message of my husband to me. This one is pasted at the back of my photo. I am grateful for him.

To all Mothers out there including me, who strive to give our all to our children and family, and sometimes feel we have not done enough, our efforts are more than enough. I know God will magnify our efforts as we strive to fulfill our roles as mothers in whatever circumstances we are in. Because motherhood is a divine role.

Happy Mother's Day to all Mothers here and to the entire world!

xoxo,
Met

It's good that your church had that special program for mother's day. That initiative will let children and husband appreciate mother's.
