Christmas Eve with the Whole Family - First Time In 11 years!
Despite what happened to the Visayas (our home) and Mindanao areas in the Philippines because of the recent typhoon, there is still reason to celebrate Christmas. We are grateful that after the super typhoon my family in Cebu and in Negros Oriental are safe. Still experiencing some inconvenience because water and electricity were not fully restored yet but still grateful.
My Family left Cebu before the typhoon came. Full story here This is a planned travel months ago before the storm.
Time To Celebrate Christmas!
Celebrating the Christmas Holiday with my in-laws is special most specially to my husband. This is the first time in 11 years of marriage, we will be celebrating it with his family.
Prior to Christmas day, we made plans on what food to prepare. Each of his brother and their families pledge to contribute a dish. By the way, he has three brothers. Two are married with children too. So we had our food ready before Christmas Eve. My husband and I also prepared gifts for each of the family members.
To have a Christmas touch along with the food preparation, I made a Merry Christmas cut outs out of a Christmas gift wrapper and stick it to the wall. They don't have a Christmas tree here. This simple decor will do.
At 11:30pm of December 24, we had little program before we ate our Noche Buena. We had games and exchange gifts! We had fun and the food prepared were delicious! Everyone enjoyed their gifts specially the children. Christmas indeed is for children young and old. :)
Candies for prizes.
My Family.
The entire Yuson Family. With in-laws and grandchildren.
My husband with his brothers and parents. He is the eldest among four brothers.
My parents-in-law with the grandchildren.
It was a memorable event for everyone in the family. We are hoping that we can do such gathering again since we live far away from my parent-in-law that's why such event is so special.
Wishing that you also had a wonderful time when your loved ones this holiday season whatever circumstance it may be.
Thank you for reaching this far. Until next time!
Take care! Happy holidays!

Not in 11 years, congrats on that. I was able to see many family members this year at Christmas that I hadn't seen in 15+ years. Your Christmas looks very blessed despite the circumstances in your country at the moment. Wishing you a Happy New Year.
