Not too sweet, not too bitter. If “sweet” refers to adding sugar, then I’m strongly against. The coffee should be very wrong and taste awful… that’s when sugar is needed, or milk. Milk gives a very sweet note, especially when added to warm coffee.
On the other hand, too bitternis not okay too. I have to say that any kind of bitterness in my cup are kind of unpleasant to me. The best and most expenssive coffees, like limited, micro lot Geisha coffees are perfectly balanced and give you sweet vibe and floral taste, without any bitterness. Bitterness often comes with dark roasting, which is also not welcome by me.
So please, I would like a balanced coffee, not very bitter, but still naturally sweet.

Well there I agree with you, I don't like it bitter either, although where I live it's usually a strong roast, so people usually sweeten it, usually with sugar 🤣.

Tho the prompt/question was rather different 😜 its not about if you prefer it sweet or without sugar. To me (thats how I understood it) It is about how far you will dare to go. Will you go after adding TOO MUCH sugar is extremum; or brewing VERY STRONG BITTER coffee (especially dark roasted) without mildening it with slightest amounts of milk or sugar?.. that is the question. Which polus of extremism is up to you, figurally saying 🙃 'Balanced' midpoint is simply out of the question here, hehe.

I'm picturing you having coffee like they often serve it in my hometown: both bitter and sweet 😂🤣 I don't like either, but if you make me choose, I choose bitter; I can't stand sugar in my coffee anymore, let alone too much sugar.
For bitter coffee, add a pinch of salt. But you know that already.

There is always the slightest touch of bitterness in coffee but the balance you propose is very good.
