Where Are The Tokens Coming From?

If you are like me then you both publish article posts and comment on other peoples' article posts which is also a post. You will receive author rewards for both types.

Below is a screenshot from yesterday's post:

Before now I have misunderstood the system. Going by the picture I previously thought that the entire 6.46Hive would be put into my account in 7 days.

Of course, we know this to be incorrect. I have my rewards set to 50% Hive Power and 50% Hive Back Dollar because it is nice to have a little liquid 😃

That 6.46Hive is split between myself and all of the people that upvoted my posts. So in reality this post (if it does not receive another upvote) will pay me 3.23Hive.

I would say not bad however this same post also earned 69.588CTP. Which is 34.794CTP.

Again if this was it I would say not bad, but this same post will also earn POB Tokens and a few more because of the tags I used in the article.

Keep in mind that every time you upvote half of that upvote is returned to your account in the manner of curation rewards. Hive BlockChain only has upsides, and so many ways to earn it is crazy.

I just figured this out this year as well ... I had not thought as hard about what happens to the curation rewards. I vote on what I like in person, and I have some autotrails I am on, but the exact math eluded me, so I appreciate the detail!

Thank you so much for your kind words. When I write a post like that fear creeps up. I am still pretty new on Hive especially compared to some people. When I write a post on my observations, the fear is like this is too basic, if you know this everyone knows this.
Being a more experienced Hive member, your appreciation is just what I needed thank you. 👍

The rewards are an interesting beast in and of itself. First, each of the various tokens can split in different manors. Example: CTP is split 60% Author and 40% curators. so of the 69.588CTP above you would receive 60% instead of 50% since you are the author of the post.

There are also some communities that if you do not use their front end to publish your post will reduce your payout by a certain amount and burn the remaining tokens. LEO I believe is one of those communities. It is all very confusing at times and I forget which ones have the reduction and which ones do not.

I knew that about Leo I think there is a 20% tax. I did not know there were different splits, and I certainly did not know that CTP was a 60/40 split lol.
