Guess Who Has A Hive Engine Witness ?

A Couple of weeks ago during a Click Track Profit Thursday Night Live or was it a Click Track Profit Inner Circle meeting? Either way, @jongolson & @blainjones told the group about running a Hive -Engine Witness node.

This is interesting because I am always looking for ways to become more involved with Hive-Engine. Then they explained the overhead for getting started is low between $30 and $50 depending on the host choice and package chosen.

Of Course, There Were Problems

Never having set anything up for anything blockchain I needed help, and @jongolson helped me with a new Hive Account and a lot of advice. Jon even helped me come up with a name for the new witness account that is @chris.witness

@blainjones helped with the technical stuff, Blain helped me pick a service to use Privex (because of their Blockchain experience) I ran into a bunch of errors and Blain jumped in and made sure the process was completed properly.

The support of the CTP Community is amazing. It is great how everyone jumps in to help each other.

Having a Hive-Engine Witness Server is a great privilege and is a great feeling of being able to contribute to the community. That is why I chose Japan for the location as we do not have any Hive-Engine witness nodes there.

Currently, I am spending $60 USD monthly. The hosting company I chose did not have a setup fee for VPS hosting so I leased a server in Japan. You may be thinking why Japan?
Japan did not have any Hive-Engine witness nodes.
Keep in mind that had I chosen a larger server than was needed for the current project, but it is nice having the extra resources for future expansion.
I am thinking it could be done for $20 cheaper but I went with a company that came highly recommended by other witness server owners.
