Exploring Traditional Dishes with a Modern Twist: Rice and Beans

Its been a while i tried my cooking skills because it is a family of boys and when we were young we always have the privilege of our mum doing the cooking but as we grow older we started entering the kitchen to learn how to cook since there is no girl among us and that was how the cooking started even though we cook the food anyhow, others will still eat it like that and they will commend our effort for even trying to enter the kitchen and do some food for others to eat so at this stage of mine, i have been doing things for a long time and i decided to do another one this time around by preparing the combination of rice and beans.

THE PROCESS

I started by sorting out the pepper first which would be used to make stew and for my stew i didn't want to use the groundnut oil to prepare it, trying another way by using the palm oil to make the stew which i feel it is okay for me.

Making use of the seasonings
-3 maggi
-salt
-Tomato paste
-pepper
-onions

Without missing out on
RICE and BEANS which i used a cup and also the rice using three cup since i was not the only one going to eat it.

First

I used the palm oil and allow it heat up then i added the pepper leaving it for some minutes but the heat of the fire was not much to avoid burning.

Then i added the tomato paste to it and allow it steam up for some time

Now adding the maggi and the salt, but my onions have been blended with the pepper so its already on fire and all i just have to do is to wait a bit and allow them heat up together then the rest is history.

Next

I started with the beans because they are more harder than rice and since i am cooking both together, i will have to start with the hardest one.

I left the beans on fire with a minimal water in other to make it soft a bit before adding my rice to it.

Then i washed the rice and left it for 20 minutes to make it very pleasant and okay to eat. Checking out the final result below i hope you enjoy what i prepared. see you next time in the kitchen again.
