The Transfer Case

The transfer case is attached to the gearbox and this receives torque from the gearbox to the propeller, the transfer case as seen in the image above has a vital role to play in the whole transmission system of the automobile.

The aim of the transmission system is to transmit energy, torque, power required to move the vehicle and stop the vehicle at any given point in time as inputted by the operator of the vehicle or engine. Without proper functioning of the various components and parts of the transmission system, there would definitely be a breakdown and downtime of the running system and this is bad.

Externally, the transfer case has some attachments like plug fuse which is being socketed to the vehicle and hanger where the bolt and nut would run through to get attached to the vehicle. Some manufacturers use different patterns in coupling their products and some Japanese manufacturers mostly use about four bolts to attach the transfer case to the propeller. Some other manufacturers also use about eight bolts and some six but it's just that there is no disadvantage to any amount of bolts that is being used.

The disadvantage of making use of a bad transfer case is that it would hinder the essence of the transmission process, it would spoil the gearbox and most times the propeller also would develop some mechanical faults. There are some things that could be avoided, if it's raining and you eventually drive in the rain, you would need to engage a four wheel drive or an auxiliary and in some vehicles, the height calibration is being increased. This takes the vehicle up because it connects to the suspension system where the shock absorbers are being connected to the wheels. This really prevents endangering the tra sfer case and the gearbox in the flooded water and whenever you drive in the rain, you should always take your vehicle to your nearest automobile diagnostic specialist to always check it out for any corrective maintenance.

El objetivo del sistema de transmisión es transmitir la energía, el par, la potencia requerida para mover el vehículo y detener el vehículo en un momento dado según lo ingresa el operador del vehículo o motor. La desventaja de hacer uso de una mala caja de transferencia es que entorpecería la esencia del proceso de transmisión, estropearía la caja de cambios y la mayoría de las veces la hélice también desarrollaría algunas fallas mecánicas. Hay algunas cosas que podrían evitarse, si está lloviendo y finalmente conduce bajo la lluvia, necesitará activar una tracción en las cuatro ruedas o un auxiliar y en algunos vehículos, se aumenta la calibración de altura. Esto eleva el vehículo porque se conecta al sistema de suspensión donde los amortiguadores se conectan a las ruedas.
