Romance month is upon us, here are three anime recommendations to enjoy in the run-up to it

2021 was a year of success after success for the world of anime, because of the pandemic many people were encouraged to give a chance to this place so comforting and have decided to stay, something very beneficial because 2022 comes full of premises that will not leave anyone indifferent, that's why you have to make good plans not to miss the premieres of new adaptations and continuations of excellent works. Since January we have already been harvesting good things, but this time I would like to bring you a special of three short anime that I recommend you to watch during the month that is approaching, the month of love and friendship.

Watashi Ga Motete Dousunda.

A very special anime, it was the last one I watched last year and I thought it was a marvel, it has quite a few cliché situations, and it may seem like just another one of the bunch, but the personality of the characters and the quality of the production make this anime the first recommendation of this post. Romantic comedy is always good to watch, because the laughs are never lacking, and neither is the embarrassment, and right here it gets an A+, I don't remember any anime that has made me laugh so much during 2021.

This anime was released in 2016, it's unfortunate that I haven't seen it before, it has 12 chapters that go by in a flash as the story doesn't get heavy or anything like that, so it's a pretty good experience in general. One of the typical things we will see is a harem around the main character, a different touch is that they are not only men in love with her, we will also see a girl who is quite funny and in cold head seems to be the best option in many ways, but the funny thing is that our main female is a high-class fujoshi, and the last thing she thinks about is having a real romance. The chapters progress through different situations and break down each of the characters very well, unfortunately it doesn't have more seasons or ovas, so if you get to see it and want to know what else happens, you'll have to go straight to the manga.

Something special that I really liked is the winks to other successful animations in the series, one of them: Shingeki no kyojin.

Ao Haru Ride

I saw this gem thanks to my boyfriend, and it was so special that it will always have a place in my heart, not only the main characters, but the story in general and the aesthetics of the environment. It was released in 2014 and still remains in some rankings of the most watched romance anime, it also has romance, drama and comedy in the development of its 12 chapters.

The main premise of this story is the reencounter, this marks the beginning of the great adventure; anime tend to portray a lot of school romance, but it is quite difficult to find one that has a special essence that moves you, especially to mark some truly human reflection of their characters, but in this case they achieve it successfully, as the protagonists have a deep reason for being and being, how the actions of external and the opposite affects them both in decisions and personality is very interesting to see. In addition, the audiovisual production and script are not far behind, they just make you want to applaud, although I'm not going to lie, it has a satisfactory but incomplete closure, if you want to know the true outcome, the same thing will happen as with the previous recommendation, you will have to read the manga, however it is not something that should limit you to enjoy these bittersweet souls struggling to stay alive during adolescence.

Horimiya

Now yes, not everything can be from 500 years ago, so my last recommendation is an anime that left me with a lot of mixed feelings: Horimiya. I just started it with my boyfriend, but in the end I finished it alone, I couldn't wait to find out what happened after each chapter, a jewel of great audiovisual quality, its graphics are wonderful, and keep you attentive to every detail during its 13 episodes, released just in the year we just said goodbye.

It might seem like a pretty basic overall plot, but it works, and it works so well. It's not the romance you expect, where they hate each other and then love each other madly, the beauty of this production is in the naturalness of the events, how the characters reflect the everydayness of their lives and fall in love with those details, something fresh and special. Personally, it is the first time I see this kind of work in the relationship of the characters, something very out of the ideal that sells the industry and something more idealized in reality, the common things are part of our lives, yes to see them reflected with sincerity, it is nice to see. Another strong point is the secondary axis of the plot, where they touch themes such as bullying, social self-isolation or the typical shame of adolescence and young adulthood, giving shape to the tangle of emotions that they present, a really good work.

El 2021 fue un año de éxitos tras éxitos para el mundo del anime, por la pandemia muchas personas se animaron a darle una oportunidad a este lugar tan reconfortante y han decidido quedarse, algo muy beneficioso ya que el 2022 viene lleno de premisas que no dejarán indiferente a nadie, es por eso que hay que hacer bien los planes para no perderse los estrenos de las nuevas adaptaciones y las continuaciones de excelentes obras. Desde enero ya se vienen cosechando cosas buenas, pero en esta ocasión me gustaría traerles un especial de tres animes cortos que les recomiendo ver durante el mes que se acerca, el mes del amor y la amistad.

Watashi Ga Motete Dousunda.

Un anime muy especial, fue el último que vi el año pasado y me pareció una maravilla, tiene bastantes situaciones clichés, y puede parecer otro más del montón, pero la personalidad de los personajes y la calidad de la producción hacen de este anime la primera recomendación de este post. La comedia romántica siempre es buena de ver, porque las risas nunca faltan, y la vergüenza tampoco, y justo acá tiene un sobresaliente, no recuerdo algún anime que me haya hecho reír tanto durante el 2021.

Este anime fue estrenado en el 2016, es lamentable que no lo haya visto antes, consta con 12 capítulos que pasan de volada ya que la historia no se vuelve pesada ni nada por el estilo, así que es una experiencia bastante buena en general. Una de las cosas típicas que podremos ver es harem alrededor de la protagonista, un toque distinto es que no solo son hombres enamorados de ella, también veremos a una chica la cual es bastante divertida y en cabeza fría pareciera ser la mejor opción en muchos sentidos, pero lo gracioso de todo es que nuestra fémina principal es un fujoshi de categoría alta, y lo último que piensa es en tener un romance real. Los capítulos avanzan entre distintas situaciones y desglosan muy bien a cada uno de los personajes, lamentablemente no tiene más temporadas ni ovas, así que si llegas a verlo y quieres saber que más pasa, tocará ir directo al manga.

Algo especial que me agradó mucho es los guiños a otras exitosas animaciones que hay dentro de la serie, una de ellas: Shingeki no kyojin.

Fue estrenada en el 2014 y todavía se mantiene en algunos rankings de los animes de romance más vistos, además cuenta con romance, drama y comedia en el desarrollo de sus 12 capítulos.

La premisa principal de esta historia es el reencuentro, este marca el inicio de la gran aventura; los animes tienden a retratar mucho el romance escolar, pero es bastante difícil encontrar alguno que tenga una esencia especial que te conmueva, sobretodo marcar algún reflejo verdaderamente humano de sus personajes, pero en este caso lo logran con éxito, ya que los protagonistas tienen una profunda razón de ser y estar, el cómo las acciones de externos y las del contrario los afecta tanto en decisiones y personalidad es muy interesante de ver. Además, la producción audiovisual y de guion no se quedan atrás, solo dan ganas de aplaudir, aunque no les voy a mentir, tiene un cierre satisfactorio pero incompleto, si quieren saber el verdadero desenlace pasará lo mismo que con la anterior recomendación, tocará leer el manga, sin embargo no es algo que deba limitarlos a disfrutar de estas agridulces almas que luchan por mantenerse vivas durante la adolescencia.

Ahora sí, no todo puede ser de hace 500 años, así que mi última recomendación es un anime que me dejó con muchos sentimientos encontrados: Horimiya. Justo lo comencé junto a mi novio, pero al final lo terminé sola, no pude esperarme a saber qué pasaba luego de cada capítulo, una joya de gran calidad audiovisual, sus gráficos están de maravilla, y te mantienen atento a cada detalle durante sus 13 episodios, estrenada justo en el año que acabamos de despedir.

Podría parecer un argumento general bastante básico, pero funciona, y lo hace tan bien. No es el romance que esperas, en donde se odian y luego se quieren con locura, la belleza de esta producción está en la naturalidad de los acontecimientos, como los personajes van reflejando la cotidianidad de sus vidas y se enamoran de esos detalles, algo fresco y especial. En lo personal, es la primera vez que veo este tipo de trabajo en la relación de los personajes, algo muy fuera de lo ideal que vende la industria y algo más idealizado en la realidad, las cosas comunes son parte de nuestra vida, sí que verlas reflejadas con sinceridad, es agradable de ver. Otro punto fuerte es el eje secundario de la trama, donde tocan temas como el bullying, el autoaislamiento social o la vergüenza típica de la adolescencia y la joven adultez, dándole forma a esa maraña de emociones que presentan, de verdad una buena obra.
