My Past Sorrowful Experiences and How They Turned Blessings in Disguise

As a human being, I wouldn't say I have experienced the kind of losses influential people have, before they got to where they are today. From my own losses, I would say loss is an inevitable pain that all humans must encounter in different measures.

Since my second year, I have been a very hardworking young lady, looking for a better life through hard work, dedication, and anything morally just. I wouldn't want to mention the names of the businesses I have invested a significant amount of funds in.

Some of them yielded massively, which made me happy, and I felt like a young millionaire. You know that feeling of having something your friends or peers can't boast about.

After that first investment, I diversified the profit into other online businesses, and that was where my winning streak took a curve turn. The first loss was caused by greed and investing blindly. The first huge profit I made was from crypto investment.

After that, my investments in different online businesses made me lose all the profits I made in crypto. My first online loss was 700,000 Naira ($761); that's a substantial sum, right? When that happened, I felt like meeting my ancestors, but thank God it's just a story today.

I know you might be asking, where is all of this leading to? In an attempt to recover that sum, I began investing in futures trading. Greed and emotional trauma made me lose almost 100,000 Naira ($109) in the blink of an eye. I blamed myself and regretted not spending that, even if it was just on treating myself.

As all of this happened, my balance was no longer something to write home about. However, the one that got me weeping like a baby was when I lost 350,000 Naira ($380) to one foreign website. Oh, that was the loss that made me wiser and vowed never to involve myself in any investment platforms again.

It was then I realized that all these online investment opportunities are owned, controlled, and managed by people looking for a way to get rich with others' sweat. It was then that I realized that any online investment is a 50-50 gain. Either you are among those who benefit or you are among those who lose everything.

That's not the end of the story, but the lessons I learned from those experiences are a blessing in disguise. The experience was hurtful, but it also taught me a great lesson.

Also, I made a post about how I sent money for a PC for me. He bought the PC and brought it back to the house on Friday. I was supposed to pick it up on Saturday, but he was at work. Since Saturday didn't work out, I hoped to get it on my way back from church.

I couldn't go due to my phone was dead, and there was no way I could call him to let him know I was at his compound since he lives on the top floor. I planned to power my phone once I got home, only to hear that thieves had broken into his compound, taken his phone and other invaluable, and my PC was gone too.

This is where I want to bring in the blessing in disguise. This PC is something I have wanted badly; whenever I remembered the cost, I got discouraged. But the many losses I encountered were like motivation for me.

Sometimes, I tell myself that if all the money I lost online had been used to purchase tangible items, I would have plenty of things to show for my online hustle. That's why I decided to go for the PC.

Here's how these losses became blessings in disguise:

My previous losses helped me cope with the emotional pain. I didn't receive much consolation from anyone. Most of my friends I told about the incidents were shocked at how relaxed I was about it. Thanks to other losses I had encountered, they helped me realize that loss is something all humans should see as part of life.

The only consolation that made me stronger was knowing that I had lost sums larger than 175,000 Naira ($190) This isn't enough reason to destroy myself; with hard work, I believe I will recover it no matter how long. As long as there is life, my hopes are high.

The incident isn't one where I should be inhumane; I had to be understanding in this kind of situation, knowing how traumatic being robbed can make one feel. He told me yesterday he would update me, He chatted me today and asked me to come to the house, and I was shocked at the outcome. He had to give me a replacement from the systems in the office, he didn't tell me that but I know that's what he did.
