Furious Beauty Queen - SOLA RANJELL. Splinterlands Weekly Art Contest - 270.
Hello Everyone.
How Are You All?
Today, I bring you another one of my digital drawings. This one is also a fan-art edition of a monster of Splinterlands that I drew my way by modifying the primary theme or the original card. I'll be sharing what tools I used, and how I did it (with detailed explanation for each step). The monster I drew today is named SOLA RANJELL.
I used my laptop, Wacom drawing tablet, stylus touch pen, and a drawing software called Ibis Paint to complete the drawing. I made this drawing and now posting it here to participate in the weekly art contest arranged by @splinterlands. I'll attach the link to the contest below. please check it out if you're interested. I'll also be adding the original image so that you can compare it yourself.
My Drawing
Original Image
I began the process by drawing the shape of her body and this started with drawing the borderlines of her body structure. I normally draw the hairs later but in this one, I drew her eyes and hair in the first step. Then I focused on drawing the details like her dress and the weapon.
Now begins the coloring part. I began by adding the primary color of her skin. I followed a new technique to color in this step. I normally used paint brush to paint but it's difficult to draw the small and thin parts of the drawing using that method. As a solution, I used the spray paint tool and then just erased just by selecting the parts I wanted to keep. The lines worked as a border for me here.
Then I began to add color layers to bring out the realistic looks on her skin and visualize the curves and shades that I wanted. I also started working on her eyes and lips too. I tried to make her eyes look like an angel's and this took me a lot more time than I realised. I don't even remember how many layers I needed to add to complete this part. I also added more than 5 color layers on her skin mainly the part of her face and neck.
Then I drew her horns and the jewelry on her head. After that, I started working on her hair. I wanted to make it look as realistic as possible and that came with the cost of a lot of work time and effort. I began with the first primary color. I'm calling it the first primary cause I added 3 primary colors to give it the perfect visualization. I drew all those colors in separate layers so that I could blend them in easily and get the expected visualization.
Now it was time to start working on her dress and the weapon she was holding. I started by adding the primary color of her dress, Sorry, I forgot to take a screenshot of the steps while drawing the magical wand weapon on her hand. I have to stay focused on the drawing that I normally forget to take screenshots and even if I remember, it's tough to keep the concentration.
Then I started adding the color layers to her dress. One by one I added the color layers and the details too.
Final Step
And with some detailing work on her magical wand weapon and her dress, here's the final result:-
