A disconnection for reconnection;the screen-free break
Contemplating on the year, just thinking about the amount of time, then countless hours I spent staying glued to my screens, always being connected to the digital world...I must admit, sincerely, technology has its benefits, advantages and various attached privileges, but personally I come to realize that my excessive screen time has taken its toll on my health(physically & mentally). And thats the main reason I would be considering starting the new year with a phone timeout (digital detox).
Thinking about disconnecting from the digital world seems like a burden, like a challenge. You know, its a digital age, thats how we stay close and connected. So now ...... How will I stay connected with friends and family?Howabout work and staying updated? But sincerely,I took my time thinking and pondering before taking the step to write,I feel like am always on,not even a timeout to rest, the constant tone and pop of notification, the swipes..everything,.I really need a rest.
This timeout would give me the opportunity to step recharge, focus, restrategize, and have time or give room for new ideas to flood in and think straight.
Also,i would be able to focus and appreciate the world around, nature and even to engage in activities and not the constant gaze on the screen....from writing,to games,to play, to a walk,to reading....and many more.
Thinking about it again,I know and very sure it won't be easy, there will be times when the urge to check my phone or scroll through the social media will be,but I would love to give myself that gift and see how I would work/make my way through it,I would love to see how I will handle it and how the whole of me would respond to the break from the digital world.
I is easy to get up today in the flaunt, showcase of others live and forget to focus on ours, digital detox would give me the chance to consider my own thoughts, feelings and all and focus on self.
This digital detox,am personally taking it up as a challenge in the new year, taking a break from technology,i will have no option but be forced to find other ways to occupy and spend my time,be it reading, being with loved once, associating more,or any new thing that comes my then when I start,I am eager to see how these will benefit my physical and mental health on the long run.
I know that starting the year with a digital detox won't be easy,i am trying to give some breaks now,so come new year the challenge would become more easier..I am ready to disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with self and the world around.
Though technology is constantly evolving and becoming more linked, connected into our daily lives, one might get caught up in it..But I know taking a breaknto step back would have it's benefits too.
How I will react, handle it is what I am anxious about, but I am determined.
Now,would I consider starting the year with a digital detox(tech timeout)? Yes I am ready to take the challenge,am ready to disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with myself and the world around me,and am excited to see how I will handle it and the benefits that would come from taking one (a break from technology).
Except stated otherwise, the last slide(picture)is mine.
Thanks for taking your time to read through.

A digital detox is one that most people need in today’s technological world. We need to take some time away and connect to the real world sometimes instead of having our faces buried in our phones all day.
