A fun and unusual day in the Rhodopes July 19 2022

Hello, Actifitters!

Today is one of those days that you know from the morning what it's going to be like.
I woke up with a smile because I knew from the day before what we were going to do today - we were going to Svoboda Peak.
I made my morning coffee and opened my laptop. During this time, my little mess 😉 had prepared a surprise for me.

Me: Oh, what are you doing Ira?!

Ira: Oops, mommy is mad!

Me:What is that you're chewing on?

Ira: Gum.

Me: Spit it out right now!

Ira: Okay, just calm down.

Me: I cleaned the whole house to a shine yesterday, and you did this today... Ahhh...

Ira: Mommy, please forgive me! I won't do that again.

Well, I forgave her, look at that sweet little eyes. 🥰

In the afternoon we set off for Svoboda Peak. The road wound past pines and small beautiful villages.

Views like this can be seen often in the Rhodopes.

We traveled for more than an hour and admired the nature. We came to this sign and already smelled "freedom at the top", but alas...
The road was under repair, there were no signs to indicate that repairs were being done. We figured this section was short and continued on. After a few kilometres we asked random passers-by how much worse the road would be and they told us that for many kilometres ahead the road was like that, even worse.
Too bad, too bad, we had to turn back, otherwise we risked breaking our car, and believe me, I didn't want to spend the night with the Smolyan bears in the forest.

We drank some cold water and went back.
