Birthday cake and favorite pastries
Hello everyone. How are you friends. Yesterday was my birthday. I started making the cake a day before. Its name is Milk girl. Usually we make this cake for birthdays. I sift flour, add salt and baking powder and mix them with a whisk. Then in a deeper bowl, I thoroughly mix eggs and condensed milk. It's necessary to beat it well for about two minutes.
Then I add melted butter from the microwave, then the previously melted and cooled butter and vanilla, mixing them well. I gradually add the dry ingredients and mix them.
The dough is ready, it's a very simple dough but easy to make. It's not as difficult as feared, everything is generally easy and simple. I usually draw a circle, about 23 centimeters in diameter.
Then I spread the dough. It will be a total of 6 layers and I make them on two trays from this amount of dough. So while one is baking, I apply the other one, it's faster this way. I bake the cake in a preheated 180-degree oven, mine baked for about 7-10 minutes. You should try to make sure everything is of equal thickness, but they shouldn't be too thick, they rise beautifully while baking.
And then I continue making the cream. The cream is very tasty, soft and not too sugary. I put mascarpone cheese, cream and powdered sugar in a bowl and whip until stiff peaks form, the cream whips very easily and quickly, it rises in just a few minutes.
And then it's left to assemble the cake, I didn't have a special bottom for it, I hadn't thought about it beforehand. So I made it on a rotating bottom directly. Then I just removed the foot, the removable one, and I spread a little cream on the bottom and then spread all the layers.
And as I neared the completion of the cake, I began to realize that I needed more cream to smooth out the cake. Perhaps I applied too much cream between the layers, but it doesn't seem like too much. However I needed to make a bit more cream, so I quickly whipped up half a portion.
I'm not a professional at this and maybe it doesn't turn out very beautifully. You can think of it just as a hobby. I always make cakes myself for children's birthdays. I also make them for my husband's birthday and he's seen my posts about it several times, but I usually make a simple cake with classic whipped cream. By the way I often make Medovik too. I decided to add a little chocolate and butter to make a glaze. And I decided to make the Milk girl cake and we really liked it, it's incredibly light, soft and not too sweet, it gives a feeling of perfection. Probably my favorite cake, but of course, it's unbeatable after cheesecake. Finally I garnished it with chocolate drips and fresh fruits.
Then I decided to make pastries. I've been trying this recipe for a long time and the results are very soft and delicate. I mix sifted flour with baking soda, add sugar, vanilla sugar, yogurt, egg and salt, then add melted butter and whip until it whitens.
Then I add the egg and yogurt mixture and mix well, then pour it into the flour mixture and knead the dough. I should mix as little as possible, I'll even gather it all into a ball, add a little more flour, it shouldn't be too sticky, I need to add a little more flour.
Then I need to refrigerate the dough for about half an hour, while the dough rests in the refrigerator, let me tell you about some of my kitchen shopping.
First I bought two baskets, I need them to organize in the kitchen cabinets, I'm planning to organize all the drawers in the cabinets, I'll probably use them without covers. And my next purchase was a 1200 ml water bottle, it has a cork cap, water always sits on the counter and I drink water from it, I have a pitcher but I wanted to replace it with a bottle like this.
And the next thing, this isn't my shopping, it came as a gift to me. These glasses are very popular right now, you can find them in many places. Mine are pink and there are 6 in the set, I haven't taken them out of the box yet. I'm eagerly looking forward to using them.
Now let's go back to the pastries. I'm preparing the filling, I thoroughly mix all the ingredients for the filling and then I roll out the dough.
The dough is very soft, very delicate, I need to roll it out to about 6 millimeters thick. And I cut out circles for the pastries, mine are 9 centimeters in diameter.
Then I shape the pastries, there are about 16-18 of them, I brush them with a mixture of egg yolk and a little mil, and bake them in a preheated 200 degree oven for 20-22 minutes.
