Today I come with a review of a movie I saw recently and I would like to share with you my opinion about this movie that was full of controversial news such as the fact that its star James Mcavoy had to improvise because he was not given a script.
My son por su traducción al español "Mi hijo" es una película de thriller de misterio sobre Edmond Murray, quien al enterarse decide ir a ver a su ex esposa Joan para encontrar a su hijo desaparecido. A simple vista tiene potencial para ser una película bastante interesante que te llenará de emoción o al menos de intrigas peeeero lamentablemente tengo malas noticias para ustedes.
My son is a mystery thriller movie about Edmond Murray, who upon finding out decides to go see his ex-wife Joan to find his missing son. At first glance it has the potential to be quite an interesting movie that will fill you with excitement or at least intrigue but unfortunately I have bad news for you.
Primero que nada quiero aclarar que según lo que leí está película se trata de un remake a otra película francesa llamada "La búsqueda" y que fue estrenada en el año 2017, ambas películas tienen en común mucho más que su trama y es que la persona encargada de producirla es la misma: Christian Carion. Cómo les comenté anteriormente esta película cautivó a la prensa porque es la escencia pura de la improvisación puesto que a nuestro protagonista no se le dió ningún tipo de guión, todo esto con la intensión de que el actor viviera en carne propia "los sentimientos y emociones" que el personaje que debía llevar a cabo algo que a mí parecer, no funcionó.
First of all I want to clarify that according to what I read this film is a remake of another French film called "The Search" and that was released in 2017, both films have in common much more than its plot and is that the person in charge of producing it is the same: Christian Carion. As I mentioned before, this film captivated the press because it is the pure essence of improvisation since our protagonist was not given any kind of script, all this with the intention that the actor lived in his own flesh "the feelings and emotions" that the character had to carry out, something that in my opinion, did not work.
My son prometía ser una película que utilizando elementos únicos iba a convertir una trama bastante gastada en algo innovador, lastimosamente las cosas no resultaron como ellos pensaban y a mí opinión digo que es una película bastante lenta y predecible que pudo ser mejorada de varias formas pero al final solo resultó ser más de lo mismo.
My son promised to be a film that using unique elements was going to turn a rather worn out plot into something innovative, unfortunately things didn't turn out as they thought and in my opinion it is a rather slow and predictable film that could have been improved in several ways but in the end it just turned out to be more of the same.
Siempre trato de dar reseñas de películas buenas para compartir con ustedes buenas experiencias pero hoy quise compartir mi opinión a pesar de no ser taaan buena, me gustaría que la vieran y me compartieran su opinión al respecto. Pienso que esta película no tiene mucho que ofrecer, la película se parece más a la película Prisioneros, una película sobre niños desaparecidos que va a lugares muy oscuros con sus personajes. Esta película parece algo similar, pero generalmente no ofrece una nueva versión del familiar desaparecido. Los primeros diez minutos no me cautivaron como tal y eso hace que la premisa sea poco emocionante. Luego de eso la película se centra principalmente en hacernos entender a sus personajes y aprender más sobre nuestro protagonista, ya que no siempre estuvo presente en la vida de su hijo. Un punto bastante positivo de esta película es que tiene fondos de paisajes realmente hermosos y además tomas dónde les sacan todo el provecho y protagonismo que se merecen!
I always try to give reviews of good movies to share with you good experiences but today I wanted to share my opinion even though it is not that good, I would like you to watch it and share with me your opinion about it. I think this movie doesn't have much to offer, the movie looks more like the movie Prisoners, a movie about missing kids that goes to very dark places with its characters. This movie seems somewhat similar, but generally doesn't offer a new version of the missing family member. The first ten minutes didn't captivate me as such and that makes the premise unexciting. After that the film mainly focuses on making us understand its characters and learning more about our protagonist, as he wasn't always present in his son's life. A very positive point of this film is that it has really beautiful landscape backgrounds and shots where they get all the benefit and prominence they deserve!
Finally, I don't have much to say about this film, only that I feel it is one of those films that critics will love and audiences will be divided into "love it or hate it" with no middle ground. Of course, this movie has its good moments and I don't recommend it 1000%, but it serves to distract us for a while.
