Biodanzar con los Abuelos / Biodanzar with Grandparents (ESP / ENG)

Biodanzar con los Abuelos, una experiencia que me sensibilizo más para seguir estando al servicio.

En días pasados, recibí la invitación para participar en esta hermosa actividad en el marco de la celebración de los 10 años de la Escuela Metropolitana Rolando Toro de Venezuela.

Me entusiasme mucho, porque aun cuando he biodanzado con personas mayores, el hecho de ir a un ancianato me toco el corazón.

Soy de hacer labor social por amor, es una cualidad que está en mí desde muy joven y siempre en los espacios donde me desenvuelvo, brindo apoyo en ese tipo de actividades.

El lugar del encuentro fue en la Urb. El Paraíso en Caracas Venezuela, un lugar lejos de donde vivo, prácticamente al otro lado de la ciudad, sin embargo eso no fue impedimento para mi participación.

Lo primero que hice fue comunicarme con una amiga estudiante de la Escuela Metropolitana que vive cerca de mi casa, para irme con ella. Nos encontramos en el metro, para luego tomar un transporte público y así llegar a Las Fuentes, El Paraíso lugar donde está el ancianato.

Fue muy hermoso ver como las personas que laboran en el lugar nos recibían con tanta calidez, yo me dije: WOW! que sentimiento tan placentero siento y no ha comenzado la sesión.

Todos los compañeros nos ubicamos en la entrada de la casa mientras, decoraban con globos la mesa donde podríamos nuestra colaboración para el compartir y las donaciones.

Fueron llegando uno a uno al salón y los ubicaron de manera que todos pudieran ser parte de la ronda. Los abuelos manifestaron su deseo de danzar y de sentir nuestra presencia, ese estar allí para ellos, no dejaba de dar las gracias.

Cada colaborador danzo con un abuelito, algunos hacían gala de sus pasos de antaño, otros no podían pararse y con sus manos celebran el encuentro. Nada pasa por casualidad, y les cuento que mientras mis compañeros se ubicaban para iniciar, yo estaba conversando con la profesora y dije dentro de mí, no voy a escoger, allí esta con quien voy a vivenciar.

Actualmente estoy iniciando un proyecto con personas con Discapacidad Visual y cuál fue mi sorpresa que los dos abuelitos con Discapacidad Visual eran los que me estaban esperando.

Ya listo iniciamos con una canción que nos recuerda que somos una marea de gente y que estamos allí para dar nuestro corazón con alegría, contacto, caricias, risas y mucho baile al ritmo y la melodía de las canciones y los ejercicios, excelentemente escogidos por la Profesora Didacta y Directora de la escuela Trina Patiño.

Al final de la jornada, compartimos todos los dulces y postres que llevamos. Más de 35 personas, entre abuelos, personal del ancianato y biodanzantes nos reunimos para Celebrar la Vida.

Biodanzar with Grandparents, an experience that made me more sensitive to continue being of service.

In recent days, I received an invitation to participate in this beautiful activity as part of the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Rolando Toro Metropolitan School of Venezuela.

I was very enthusiastic, because even though I have biodanced with elderly people, the fact of going to an old people's home touched my heart.

I do social work for love, it is a quality that is in me since I was very young and always in the spaces where I work, I provide support in such activities.

The place of the meeting was in Urb. El Paraíso in Caracas Venezuela, a place far from where I live, practically on the other side of the city, but that was not an impediment for my participation.

The first thing I did was to contact a student friend from the Metropolitan School who lives near my house, to go with her. We met at the subway and then took public transportation to Las Fuentes, El Paraíso, where the old people's home is located.

It was very beautiful to see how the people who work in the place received us with such warmth, I said to myself: WOW! what a pleasant feeling I feel and the session has not even started.

All the companions stood at the entrance of the house while they decorated with balloons the table where we would be able to collaborate in the sharing and donations.

They arrived one by one to the hall and placed them so that everyone could be part of the round. The grandparents expressed their desire to dance and to feel our presence, to be there for them, and they never stopped thanking us.

Each collaborator danced with a grandfather, some showed off their old steps, others could not stand up and with their hands they celebrated the encounter. Nothing happens by chance, and I tell you that while my colleagues were getting ready to start, I was talking to the teacher and I said to myself, I am not going to choose, there is the one I am going to experience it with.

I am currently starting a project with people with Visual Impairment and what was my surprise that the two grandparents with Visual Impairment were the ones waiting for me.

We started with a song that reminds us that we are a tide of people and that we are there to give our hearts with joy, contact, caresses, laughter and lots of dancing to the rhythm and melody of the songs and exercises, excellently chosen by the Didactic Teacher and Director of the school Trina Patiño.

At the end of the day, we shared all the sweets and desserts we brought. More than 35 people, including grandparents, nursing home staff and biodanzantes gathered to Celebrate Life.
