Writing help

  • A free app: Grammarly. A lot of us are not native English speakers and I am finding it a helpful app. It will underline spelling and grammar mistakes. Remember that it is not always right -especially if you use complex sentence structures. Here is the link

  • Remember The Most Dangerous Writing App. You set the time - 5 min - and start typing. Don’t stop!!! It will destroy what you wrote if you stop for more than 3 seconds - and backspace does not count as writing on the app. If you are prone to stop and think - this app forces you to keep going. You can make corrections after the 5 minutes are over.

  • A timer. Egg timer is a free tool you can use on your desktop to set a time. This is useful for our freewrites or if you want to work in blocks of time and then take a break. Here is the link

With considerable contempt I see how many women acquire expensive purses through social networks. And that saddens me, because of the reflection I make: the current world we live in is based exclusively on appearances, on the fact that the food you are enjoying looks appetizing and incredible, even though in reality it is crap that you have only made up for look good in an instagram photo. In pretending that you are dressed sexy and showing your best curves, when in reality on a daily basis what you give is embarrassment because you are always disheveled, in showing off by acquiring an expensive purse, having to spend a month's salary even if you run out of money to buy food, because what matters is appearance, that others through social networks see that you lead a glamorous, successful life, eating the best delicacies and visiting the most beautiful and fashionable places, conversing with the most famous and always following the latest trend, no matter how stupid it is. It really puts me in a very grumpy mode, I find it so silly and pointless.

I guess they do it because they don't have enough capacity for analysis or reasoning to realize that there are issues that matter more, that are of greater interest than showing off the latest Nike shoes or the "legitimate" Cartier watch that you bought for $10,000, when you actually bought it from a reseller in china town.

With the passage of time people become more stupid and those of us who are not, have to put up with the vast majority. A very unpleasant task!.

This was my writing for the 5 minutes a day.
