Writing help

  • A free app: Grammarly. A lot of us are not native English speakers and I am finding it a helpful app. It will underline spelling and grammar mistakes. Remember that it is not always right -especially if you use complex sentence structures. Here is the link

  • Remember The Most Dangerous Writing App. You set the time - 5 min - and start typing. Don’t stop!!! It will destroy what you wrote if you stop for more than 3 seconds - and backspace does not count as writing on the app. If you are prone to stop and think - this app forces you to keep going. You can make corrections after the 5 minutes are over.

  • A timer. Egg timer is a free tool you can use on your desktop to set a time. This is useful for our freewrites or if you want to work in blocks of time and then take a break. Here is the link

  • I found this app through @emwalker. Use it regularly and it will help you type faster and more accurately. [10 fast fingers](https://10fastfingers.com/typing-test/english

When we talk about walking on both sides, the first thing that comes to mind is a two-lane highway. He as a person makes a journey to one side and then to the other side.

But I am not going to deal with this topic in that sense today, because I find the aspect of being bilingual more interesting, of having to live in a country other than the one of the original native language, and to develop there. This requires learning the new language, and also getting people to talk to you in your native language, to share experiences, and of course getting help. It is difficult to be in an environment where nobody understands you and you don't understand anyone either, it is not my case, but I always see the case of these immigrants who move to another country and must overcome this with great empathy.

Like the case of people who grow up in a home where 2 or more languages are spoken. I remember the case of an acquaintance who had a Swiss father and her mother was from Arabia, she was born in Venezuela. For what I have to learn Spanish first, and at the same time German and Arabic. She tells me that it was much more difficult for her to learn Arabic, she did not understand a word of what her mother said to her. With the passing of the years, she understood better in Spanish with both parents and she thus learned and perfected her Arabic.

And the other side of walking on two sides, is that culturally he was greatly enriched by learning about Arab, Swedish and Venezuelan traditions, so the cultural baggage in terms of gastronomy, national holidays, and history of each country is truly impressive.

My friend's name is Maggy, and I love talking to her, because it's always a super interesting experience.

I can say that walking on a two-sided highway is extremely interesting, both for those who do it, and for those of us who see things from the outside as spectators, as has been my case.

And this is what I wanted to write about the prompt of the day.
