Writing help

  • A free app: Grammarly. A lot of us are not native English speakers and I am finding it a helpful app. It will underline spelling and grammar mistakes. Just remember that is is not always right -especially if you use complex sentence structures. Here is the link

  • Remember The Most Dangerous Writing App. You set the time - 5 min - and start typing. Don’t stop!!! It will destroy what you wrote if you stop for more than 3 seconds - and backspace does not count as writing on the app. If you are prone to stop and think - this app forces you to keep going. You can make corrections after the 5 minutes are over.

  • A timer. Egg timer is a free tool you can use on your desktop to set a time. This is useful for our freewrites or if you want to work in blocks of time and then take a break. Here is the link

Before I start let me say a thank you to @ mariannewest for taking back to primary school, I can't remember what they call it outside my country Nigeria. It was a great memory

We offer one subject which us called home economic when you get to senior class it's called food and nutrition which is mostly practical and less theory and to be honest I really love that subject, this faithful day we will be having a practical which is not actually cooking but sowing a table cloth with needle and thread. This practical is like a trend on my country then can't say about now that almost everything as changed.

We were asked to come with at least two yard and plain cloth any color of our choice, thread and needle. I got home told my mom and she gave me money to get the two yard of cloth because we always have needle and thread at home to mend our cloth when it got torn

I was very excited the next day in school when it was the home economic period, my teacher drew a sample on the board for us, I didn't waste time because sowing with thread and needle is one thing I do almost every week. I did nice and perfect and I got it done earlier than she expected. I also helped my class mate when I was through with it, which was also what made me an my primary school crush closer. I scored the highest mark at the end of the day...

It was nice then and also feel great remembering now
