Writing help
A free app: Grammarly. A lot of us are not native English speakers and I am finding it a helpful app. It will underline spelling and grammar mistakes. Just remember that is is not always right -especially if you use complex sentence structures. Here is the link
Remember The Most Dangerous Writing App. You set the time - 5 min - and start typing. Don’t stop!!! It will destroy what you wrote if you stop for more than 3 seconds - and backspace does not count as writing on the app. If you are prone to stop and think - this app forces you to keep going. You can make corrections after the 5 minutes are over.
A timer. Egg timer is a free tool you can use on your desktop to set a time. This is useful for our freewrites or if you want to work in blocks of time and then take a break. Here is the link
I found this app through @emwalker. Use it regularly and it will help you type faster and more accurately. [10 fast fingers](https://10fastfingers.com/typing-test/english
I've never tried this before. I'll give it ago. Not sure I'll be much good at it though!
You did great! Thank you for jumping in and give the Freewrite a try :)

Here's my attempt. Not much good I'm afraid which is why I'm posting it here rather than writing a post. but it is the first time I've tried this. Here goes:
It looked like he was going to finish it. Joe had been trying his best to get the lounge painted before his wife Jane returned home. He had been out the day before and bought all the materials he needed and had hidden them in the car. He knew exactly how she wanted the lounge decorated, they had been talking about it for weeks, but they just hadn't had the time to do it. However, Joe had secretly taken some leave from work to get the job done. Jane was going to be surprised.
He had been working hard all day and it was nearly time for Jane to come home when suddenly there was a loud crash behind him. The workbench he had put the paint tin on had collapsed and splashed paint all over the freshly papered walls. Joe sighed as he realised that his plan was just too much for him to pull off in such a short amount of time.
That's great! The whole point of Freewriting is to just write (and try not to judge too much!). The more you write the better you get. And writing something is better than nothing at all! Hope you join in again soon!
You did great!! Just keep in mind that there is no good or bad when freewriting - the point is to write. And of course, you are welcome to always post as a comment if you don't want to make a post.
Welcome to the Freewriters!
Thank you. I'm new to the concept, but will try again. I just didn't think it was good enough for a post but wanted to participate. Maybe I'll get quicker and more imaginative the more I do it. I was quite surprised that I came up with what I did in 5 minutes.
freewrites are surprising :) And I hope you will join us often :)
