Navidad en familia🎄❤️ [Esp-Eng]

Tenía días pensando en dónde pasar mi navidad, no sabía si pasarla con la familia de mi esposo o con la mía, ya que es una fecha de alegría, amor y unión familiar. En el año 2021 pasé diciembre con mis padres, pero ellos están en Colombia y se me hizo un poco complicado ir hasta allá. Así que decidí esta vez compartir con la familia de mi esposo, con un poco de nostalgia porque tengo a mis padres y hermanos en otro país, pero gracias a Dios existen las redes sociales y me puedo comunicar con ellos. Mi suegra me hizo una llamada y me dijo "ven a la casa para que pases el día y me ayudas a organizar lo de las hallacas". Ella es mi segunda mamá, siempre nos apoya en todo, es una bonita persona, muy cariñosa y le gusta divertirse mucho.

I had been thinking for days about where to spend my Christmas, I did not know whether to spend it with my husband's family or with mine, since it is a time of joy, love and family togetherness. In the year 2021 I spent December with my parents, but they are in Colombia and it was a little complicated to go there. So this time I decided to share with my husband's family, with a little nostalgia because I have my parents and siblings in another country, but thank God there are social networks and I can communicate with them. My mother-in-law called me and said "come to the house so you can spend the day and help me organize the hallacas". She is my second mom, she always supports us in everything, she is a nice person, very affectionate and likes to have a lot of fun.

Mientras hacíamos las hallacas, nos reímos mucho con los chistes y ocurrencias que contaban. Mi suegra las iba haciendo y yo las amarraba.

El guiso quedó espectacular. Era de carne de res y pernil, con todas sus verduras, pasas, y aceitunas. ¡Quedó divino!.

While we were making the hallacas, we laughed a lot with the jokes and witticisms they told. My mother-in-law was making them and I was tying them.

The stew turned out spectacular. It was beef and pork, with all the vegetables, raisins and olives. It was divine!

Yo era la encargada de amarrarlas, aunque primero me tuvieron que enseñar a hacerlo porque no sabía mucho 😂😂, hasta que al fin aprendí y me quedaron bonitas.

I was in charge of tying them, although first they had to teach me how to do it because I didn't know much 😂😂, until I finally learned and they were beautiful.

Una vez aprendí a hacerlas ya todo lo hacías más rápido, todas eran del mismo tamaño y yo estaba contenta haciendo las hallacas.

Luego tocó hacer más masa. En ese momento habíamos hecho 51 hallacas. Debían ser bastantes porque vendrían más hijos y nietos de mi suegra para la reunión.

Once I learned how to make them, everything was done faster, they were all the same size and I was happy making the hallacas.

Then it was time to make more dough. At that time we had made 51 hallacas. There had to be enough because more of my mother-in-law's children and grandchildren were coming for the reunion.

Y así nos quedaron nuestras lindas hallacas. Las hicimos con mucho amor para toda la familia.

And this is how our beautiful hallacas turned out. We made them with lots of love for the whole family.

Llegó el día 24, ya estaba todo listo. Al llegar la noche se sentía mucha alegría, paz, y armonía. Todos estaban bien contentos. Empezó a llegar más familia, algunos conversaban, otros bailaban, los niños jugando. Mi cuñado me dijo que le tomara una foto junto a mi esposo. Ellos se quieren mucho. Las niñas también querían fotos para luego seguir jugando. Ellas estaban hermosas.

The 24th arrived, everything was ready. At nightfall there was a lot of joy, peace and harmony. Everyone was very happy. More family began to arrive, some were talking, others were dancing, the children were playing. My brother-in-law told me to take a picture of him and my husband. They love each other very much. The girls also wanted pictures to continue playing. They were beautiful.

Estábamos todos reunidos en el frente de la casa de mi suegra, yo llevé el equipo de música de mi casa y mi suegro puso unas buenas gaitas. Luego llegaron los vecinos a compartir con nosotros. Hacía un frío bueno. Mi suegra se puso linda, ya que ella es una señora muy coqueta.

Le doy gracias a Dios porque me tocó una suegra tan buena. Me dijo que le tomara una foto junto a su esposo y sus tres hijos. También una foto de todos junto a su vecina. Fue una noche espectacular. Yo casi no salgo en las fotos porque era quien las tomaba y me ponía animar al grupo.

We were all gathered in front of my mother-in-law's house, I brought my home stereo and my father-in-law played some good bagpipes. Then the neighbors came to share with us. It was freezing cold. My mother-in-law got pretty, as she is a very flirtatious lady.

I thank God that I got such a nice mother-in-law. She told me to take a picture of her with her husband and three children. Also a picture of all of us with her neighbor. It was a spectacular night. I almost didn't get in the pictures because I was the one taking them and I was the one cheering up the group.

Me tomé una foto con mi esposo, estaba feliz de pasar otra navidad junto a él. Le doy a la vida por tan maravilloso hombre que me tocó, y que a pesar de que aún no tenemos hijos, formamos una pequeña familia junto a nuestro perrito. Él quedó en mi casa encerrado, no me lo pude llevar porque sabía que iban a explotar muchos fuegos artificiales y eso no es bueno para él.

I took a picture with my husband, I was happy to spend another Christmas with him. I thank life for such a wonderful man that touched me, and that even though we don't have children yet, we formed a small family with our little dog. He stayed at my house locked up, I could not take him with me because I knew that many fireworks were going to explode and that is not good for him.

Doy gracias a Dios por la salud de nuestra familia, esperando recibir el año 2023 con toda la energía del mundo, por las maravillas y bendiciones que nos pasan en el día a día; por ese amor que nos transmiten nuestros padres, y por la sonrisa que nos sacas aquellas personas, que a pesar de no llevar la misma sangre, siempre hacen lo que sea por vernos felices. Yo lo único que deseo es buena salud, ya que sin ella no somos nada y mucha felicidad para el mundo entero, y que la paz de Dios siempre se transmita en nuestros hogares. Que el amor de Dios no nos falte nunca y que cada día busquemos más de él, porque sin él no somos nada. ¡Feliz navidad a todos!❤️🎄

I thank God for the health of our family, hoping to receive the year 2023 with all the energy in the world, for the wonders and blessings that happen to us on a daily basis; for the love that our parents transmit to us, and for the smile that those people give us, who despite not having the same blood, always do whatever it takes to see us happy. The only thing I wish is good health, because without it we are nothing and much happiness for the whole world, and that the peace of God is always transmitted in our homes. May God's love never fail us and may we seek more of it every day, for without it we are nothing.Merry Christmas to all!❤️🎄
