These images that are part of my personal archive, were taken a few years ago, in the framework of a call made by social networks, and with the support of the municipal authorities of that time, for amateur photographers, in order to make a walking tour through the historic center of the city, seeking to bring citizens closer to the local architectural and historical heritage.

The Bolivar Square (Plaza Bolívar) of Barquisimeto, a city located in central western Venezuela, is located in the central area where the Concepcion Square was previously located in 1842.

Later, in the year 1894, beautiful railings from New York were placed and several lots of other houses were acquired to expand the plaza. On June 4, 1896, it would be reopened and given the name of Miranda Square, remaining so until 1925, when it was given the name of "Plaza Bolivar", which it retains to this day, however, it would not really be until 1930 when General Eustoquio Gomez, at that time governor of the state of Lara, decreed and built the current pedestal for the placement of the equestrian statue of the Father of the Homeland, which was brought from Europe on the occasion of commemorating the centenary of the death of "The Liberator", Simón Bolívar.

Estas imágenes que forman parte de mi archivo personal, fueron tomadas unos años de años atrás, en el marco de una convocatoria realizada por las Redes Sociales, y con el apoyo de las autoridades municipales de aquel entonces, para fotógrafos aficionados, con la finalidad de realizar un recorrido a pié por el casco histórico de la ciudad, buscando acercar más a los ciudadanos con el patrimonio arquitectónico e histórico local.

La Plaza Bolívar de Barquisimeto, ciudad ubicada en el centro occidente venezolano, se encuentra en el casco central donde anteriormente estuvo ubicada la Plaza Concepción en 1842.

Posteriormente, en el año 1894 se colocarían unas bellas rejas provenientes de Nueva York y se adquieren varios solares de otras casas para ampliar la plaza. El 4 de junio de 1896, sería reinaugurada dándosele el nombre de Plaza Miranda, permaneciendo así hasta 1925, cuando se le otorga el nombre de Plaza Bolívar, el cual conserva hasta el día de hoy, sin embargo, no sería realmente sino hasta el año 1930 cuando el General Eustoquio Gómez, en aquel entonces gobernador del estado Lara, decretaría y construiría el actual pedestal para la colocación de la estatua ecuestre del Padre de la Patria, que fuese traída de Europa en ocasión de conmemorarse el centenario de la muerte de "El Libertador", Simón Bolívar.

As I have described before, and it is a usual practice in photography, I intervene the original images making use of the editing tools provided by the various applications available in the market. In my particular case, I use Picsart and Snapseed, with which I am familiar, and I find them friendly and easy to use, without the complexity that I observe in others.

Como he descrito anteriormente, y es una práctica usual en la fotografía, intervengo las imágenes originales haciendo uso de las herramientas de edición que proporcionan las diversas aplicaciones disponibles en el mercado. En mi caso en particular, empleo Picsart y Snapseed, con las que me encuentro familiarizado, y las encuentro amigables y fáciles de usar, sin la complejidad que encuentro en otras.
