Just Made a Good Handbag For Easter Gift

I just decided to make a handbag for my mother and a good one for that with a lot of designs on the bag. Last December Christmas 2021, i noticed that my mother’s handbag was old but she never wanted to tell me because she knows that I am facing business challenges in my handbag craftwork making.

Well, if things are difficult in Nigeria. I know full well that people will still make use of craftwork like bags, shoes, and others but only that the demand will be low and the prices that I used to do for customers per bag will also reduce.

My mother is a precious woman and she deserves to be happy this coming Easter. At least this is the reason why I have to surprise her with a beautiful handbag made by me. With the level of my experience with needlework on craftwork is enough for me to know the designs that will suit my mother because she’s a fair woman. Mothers need to be happy with their children at least once in a while.

Materials I Used to Make the Handbag Are:

Leather: The type of leather that is preferable for handbag making are those once that do not accommodate water or are sometimes regarded as foreign leather. When I talk about leather, it is of different types and of different colors depending on what you want to make. The leather used for bag making is somehow different from the one used for shoemaking.

The bag pin: This pin in handbag making is of different types like the one at the base of the bag is regarded as a base pin or bag stand while the pin at the front of the bag is regarded as a designer pin. The pins are also used to make the handbag stronger after fitting them to the bag when creating.

Carton: This is a thick paper material used in handbag making. The paper helps the bag to be thick and strong inside but must be covered with foam.

Light foam: This material is common and is not costly in bag making. The light foam is used to pad the inner side of the bag after you must have fit in your cartons. You will still need to cover the foam with another light cotton material to make the bag look neat and foreign.

Tools I Used to Make the Bag Are:

Sewing machine

Thread

Needle

Gum

Measuring tape

Hammer

Scissors

How I Prepared the Bag:

The first thing that came to my mind was what kind of bag will I make for my mother.

I have to go to the market and get the materials ready but the type of leather to be used must be considered.

I took measurements of the bag with a tailoring measuring tape. The same measurement you will be using for the leather must be applicable to the carton and foam too.

I have to draw the lines with a pen and then cut them out with scissors.

Then I have to rob gum with a brush on the materials that I just cut out.

I have to allow the gum for some hours and then gum the leather and the carton first and later the foam.

I have to fix the bag pins.

Then sew the hand that will be used in carrying the bag and some other areas with a sewing machine.

I have to cover every inner area of the bag with cotton material and then sew again.
