The GHAWG Diaries, Part 5
What's happening behind the scenes to bring new GHAWG content? The GHAWG Diaries is my recap of what I've been doing.

Introduction
There's more to #GHAWG than just daily zapfic entries and the spreadsheet I use to track them. There's research. There's review. There's also thought and inspiration. Then there are the tools involved in doing any of those tasks.
Just to keep things from getting scrambled in my head, and also to document for myself what I've been considering, I began keeping a diary of my activities as they concern #GHAWG. With posts in the GHAWG, Uninterrupted series on hold at Act 5 while Act 6 remains in progress, I decided to share these diary entries with everyone on Hive blockchain.
On Mondays which don't feature a GHAWG, Uninterrupted post-- GHAWG-U-- I'll post diary entries from the previous 7 days or between GHAWG-U posts if the time between them is short. For Part 2, there are 14 days' worth of diary entries. The first entry starts on 2023-October-2.
Before anyone scratches their heads at a few terms, here are 3 I began using since the previous post:

📓 Today I published the weekly summary featuring zapfic entries 190 through 196. With David Guardia's mission at Portland, the rest of the ride to San Diego is more on the upbeat side. It's also a way for me to get more characters involved in the serial and to develop their stories (as much as 240 character blocks allow, anyway). 📓 While reviewing digital maps to see what was between San Bernardino and Barstow in California I noticed a few interesting place names. I decided to work on a GHAWG, Behind the Scenes post to share my findings. Much of the post is done, so I will publish it some time on Tuesday.

📓 I spent much of the day doing unexpected tech support on my mother's iMac and HP All-in One PC, so I didn't get much done for GHAWG. However, I was able to update the URLs for 4 posts for The GHAWG Diaries. Next I'll repeat the updates for the GHAWG-U posts. When I get to the Weekly Summaries, I'll do it over a few days.

📓 Recently I began a series called GHAWG, Behind the Scenes. It covers work on things such as story-related graphics, spreadsheet maintenance, and research. This week I published a post in this series related to maps and what I find in them. I call these posts Fun with Maps. If a section of a digital map shows at least 5 interesting names (not including what makes it into GHAWG), I'll write a post on that section of map. With about 8,150 miles (13,113 km) of motorcycle riding before David Guardia finally goes home (to Iowa, leaving New Jersey behind), there will be lots of maps to write about.

| 📓 It looks as if Fun With Maps will be a regular feature in The GHAWG Universe. I spent much of the day working on the 3rd edition of this series. However, I hadn't worked out how to get the post done before midnight. It cost me a chance to earn a Hive Power Up Month badge, so I just need to start over. These posts are meant to be amusing, educational, and broadly related to the zapfic serial. The trick for me is to not let time get away from me as I work on those posts. |

📓 Today I worked on the Fun with Maps 4 post which is part of the GHAWG, Behind the Scenes. Part of the work is finding links to pages which explain in more detail the places I highlight on my edited copies of the digital maps. For places named after more famous locations (for example, Paris, Texas; Amsterdam, New York; Athens, Georgia; etc.), the reason is self-evident. For eye-catching names such as [Zzyzx, California](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/ghawg-behind-the-scenes-fun-with-maps-1), the reason is also self-evident. However, for places such as the [Allentown, Pennsylvania](https://ecency.com/hive-167922/@magnacarta/ghawg-behind-the-scenes-fun-with-maps-3) and Barstow, California, I need to explain why I found the place interesting. Today I wrote a bit about Pennsylvania towns such as Tuscarora and Hometown.

📓 Weekly summary featuring zapfic entries 197 through 204 was published today. It should have ended with 203, but a bonus entry was included to show events in Seattle a short time after [David Guardia spoke his words to city officials at the block party](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/re-magnacarta-3ksrxwuw). The next weekly summary will include another bonus entry. 📓 While walking through area neighborhoods today I was listening to "Route 66" as performed by Depeche Mode. Along the way I was thinking of the story for The Bronze. Originally I was going to have David Guardia-- by that point serving time in prison-- pardonned and then carrying out one more mission as directed by The Lord. I came up with a different story: just as he was about to go free something happens where The Lord needs him and a couple of other inmates to deal with a grave matter within the prison. While the original story was going to be along the lines of an action movie, this alternate story would be more like a horror story. Whichever way I decide to take The Bronze, this is all I can say about it for now.

📓 Today I worked on the next Fun with Maps post in the GHAWG, Behind the Scenes series. I may have found a way to get these posts done before midnight: Prepare them during the days I have other posts to publish. Thanks to the Excel formulas which build the Markdown codes for the content sections of the posts, the posts I publish on Saturdays and Mondays essentially write themselves. The Fun with Maps posts are more like the Index4INDEX posts I had been publishing at LikeTu during the previous 12 months, and those took me longer to compose.📓 I need to update the pinned post "[GHAWGnav: Navigating the GHAWG Universe](https://inleo.io/@magnacarta/ghawgnav-navigating-the-ghawg-universe)" to include not only the usual updates but also the Fun with Maps posts. I also need to go back to earlier posts and normalize URLs to the zapfic entries. Even though they were generated with LeoThreads, I will use "post" URLs since they cause the front-end to render the content in a more readable style. |

This is the normal schedule for the posting of content for #GHAWG:
● Daily -- Each zapfic entry is posted shortly after midnight, from New York
● Weekends -- Weekly Summaries (with modified screen capture from LeoThreads as cover image) are usually on Saturday, sometimes Sunday
● Monday -- Either GHAWG, Uninterrupted if present, or The GHAWG Diaries
Where
● Daily zapfic entries drop at LeoThreads, usually posted shortly after midnight from New York (sometimes around noon)
● Both kinds of posts-- Weekly Summaries and GHAWG, Uninterrupted-- can be accessed using the #GHAWGnav thread or from my LeoFinance profile page
This week I hope to have more content published and recorded to Hive blockchain.
