Christmassy Sights and Lights at Naples Island, Long Beach, California

Hello everyone! It's only a few days before Christmas...are you ready for the big day? This is the most joyful of times, this advent season-the waiting, the rush, and the family reunions.

Speaking of which we are hosting our niece's family that has come to visit us from the north, the land of the 'snowbirds'. They are definitely enjoying the slightly warmer weather here, not to mention the warmer company of aunties, uncles, and cousins galore.

On our list of fun things to do together, aside from big and rowdy family dinners, are visiting amusement parks, the foremost of which is Disneyland. Yes! That's on Christmas Day.

Can't wait to see the face of my 6-year-old grandnephew when he meets Mickey Mouse for the first time.

We're also checking out amazing Christmas lights and decorations in the neighborhood, particularly in Naples Island, Long Beach, which is said to be the most beautiful waterfront during Christmas. There are hundreds of colorful twinkling lights everywhere.

This neighborhood of million-dollar homes goes all out decorating its homes to spread out the holiday cheers. It was dressed for Christmas and looked spectacular.

So We Chose to Walk

There is an option to ride a boat, or the romantic gondola to view the dazzling lights and sights but we chose to walk instead. It was a chilly but lovely evening to stroll around and get a closer view of the fabulously decorated homes. With hot chocolate in hand, we joined a crowd in walking the semi-circular path of about 3 miles.

Fantabulous Homes and Lights

The high-end homes with different types of architecture are lovely by themselves, but they were made more stunning with the decorations. It looked as if the neighbors are competing to be the most Christmassy. The residents are friendly and those who happened to be on their patios gave us smiles and greetings.

Aside from the multicolored lights, and Christmas trees, Santa Claus is one of the favorites. Look at these awesome houses with Santa.

The Beautiful Reflections

Walking along the canal gave us breathtaking views of the houses, their reflections on the water, and the lighted boats. A nice and fun family strolling activity.
