Enjoying the beautiful Plaza of San Francisco of Asis

(Edited)

Hello, my friends. I have to tell you about my recent visit to Havana. A few days ago, I went to visit some relatives and so I took the opportunity to do some paperwork.

Visiting Havana was a dream come true for me. I had heard about the beauty and charm of this city, and I finally had the opportunity to do it. I stayed for a few days, and one of my destinations had to be Old Havana.

I can't find adequate words to express how beautiful and pleasant this place is. Walking through its streets full of cobblestones. One of the most impressive places I visited in Old Havana was the Plaza of San Francisco of Asis. This place was under restoration, but its beauty was undeniable. The ancient architecture strikes you immediately.

In the center of the square is the majestic Basilica San Francisco of Asis, which was inaugurated in 1738. Unfortunately, when I arrived, the basilica was closed, so I could not enter, but just admiring its facade and the magnitude of its construction was impressive. The wealth of history and architecture found in every part of Old Havana is simply fascinating.

But what thrilled me the most was seeing the statue of the Chevalier de Paris. Who was an elegant vagabond who roamed the streets of Havana in the 1950s and 1960s. Although he lived in destitution, he always wore elegant suits and carried an umbrella, thus becoming an emblematic character of the city.

The statue of the Chevalier of Paris is located in this square, and is an iconic figure in the city. The statue has a gleaming beard, because over the years, thousands of visitors like me have touched and stroked his beard as a gesture of good luck. So, of course, I couldn't resist the temptation and also gave the beard of the Chevalier of Paris a little touch.

The atmosphere in the Plaza of San Francisco of Asis is unmatched. It is very close to restaurants where you can enjoy live music with groups, as in my case I was lucky enough to appreciate a duo.

From the historic architecture to the music and Cuban culture, everything was simply spectacular. Although I was not able to enter the Basilica San Francisco of Asis, the Plaza of San Francisco of Asis and the statue of the Knight of Paris and the fountain that is located in this park has left a pleasant impression on me. If you ever have the opportunity to visit Havana, do not hesitate to go to this place, it is spectacular.
