Do you love eating mung bean sprouts? If yes this content will give an idea of how to make your first DIY mung bean sprout at home.

It all started when I love buying mung bean sprouts in the market and a mall because I love cooking them but sometimes I feel disgusted when I see them displayed very open and still wet in the market. And just this few days ago when I realised that I have a lot of mung beans in the house which I bought from the mall and the other one was given from the charity that I shared with you lately. So I think what if I'll try to make mung bean sprouts by myself.

Now Here are the steps how I grow my DIY mung bean sprouts

Day 1

STEP1

  • I wash the mung beans thoroughly and place them into a container with a cover and leave it overnight.

STEP2

  • The next day I open it and here's what it looks like. I drain the water after and rinse.

STEP3

  • In assembling, I used 175 grams of mung beans, an old basket, tissue papers, a ceramic plate and water. You can see here that I filed tissue paper at the bottom part (you can also use clothes if you want). After that, I place the mung beans evenly that I soak overnight and cover with a tissue paper at the top and sprinkle water just to wet enough the tissue paper and lastly place the plate and all ready to place in the dark to sprout.

we have an old broken refrigerator and I think it is the best place for them.

The following morning the same time I check the mung beans and here what it looks like.

Day2

I repeat the process of rinsing the mung beans and cover again with tissue, sprinkle them with water, cover but this time I flip the plate and return them to the fridge.

Day3

On its third day, it's already good for harvesting but I want it to grow longer so I place it in a corner and water every 3 hours and at night time I harvested it and cook them for our dinner.

So that's how I made my first DIY mung bean sprout at home. It's not as fat as I like but not bad the first time. Now that it was a success I guess I will never buy them again and will make them my own from now on.

Thank you so much for reading this far. I hope you find it interesting.

Best regard from @luckylaica 😉.
