Venator Kinjo Simpsons Style

Hello everyone! My name is Lorentm, and as a digital artist, I'm always excited to participate in the weekly Splinterlands art contest. This time, I decided to dive into a creative challenge by making a fan art of the intriguing character "Venator Kinjo", in true Simpsons style.

Venator Kinjo, a vampire monk with kunais in his hands, has been a constant source of fascination for me. The combination of his mysterious appearance and combat prowess makes him a truly unique character in the world of Splinterlands. I wanted to pay tribute to him in an original and fun way, so I decided to give his image a Simpsonian twist.

The main challenge was to find a way to capture the essence of Venator Kinjo and adapt it to the Simpsons' distinctive style. I delved into the world of Springfield, where exaggeration and expressiveness are key. I wanted to keep the character's signature elements, such as his kunais and air of mystery, but reinterpreted with the iconic Simpsons aesthetic.

In my fan art, you can see Venator Kinjo in all his splendor. With his pale complexion and piercing eyes, he carries with him his kunais ready for combat. However, his appearance has been transformed into a softer, more cartoonish version, adapting to the Simpsons style. Few have heard about the secret mission of the pious order, The Bloody Envoy. These devout monks spend their young lives living within the Hidden Cloister, a monastery that is said to be somewhere within Abbots Marsh on Praetoria, and beholden to no other. Taken at an early age, these children are the unfortunate offspring of women that have been used for entertainment by vampires at their lavish parties. After being brought into their new family, the children spend their time studying and praying, learning to live with the dhampir affliction that has taken their bodies. They are taught that to drink the blood of a human is the ultimate sin, and they sustain themselves upon the livestock they keep.

Process / Proceso

To begin with, I immersed myself in the world of Splinterlands and carefully studied the character of Venator Kinjo. I analyzed his appearance, features and unique details, such as his pale skin, the red tattoo on his forehead, the white eyes, the vampire fangs, the beard and mustache, the necklace of red spheres and the kunais in his hands. I also studied the Simpsons visual style, with its simplicity and distinctive features.

Using a graphics tablet and a design program, I began to create a basic sketch of Venator Kinjo in a pose and composition that would highlight his personality and features. I worked on the facial details, the shape of the robe and the position of the kunais, making sure to capture the essence of the character and adapt it to the Simpsons style.

Once satisfied with the sketch, I traced the main lines and contours using digital drawing tools. I used clean, sharp strokes, following the Simpsons' signature style, to highlight Venator Kinjo's distinctive features.

Next, I selected a vibrant, flat color palette that resembled the reference image. I used violet tones for the tunic, deep reds for the tattoo and necklace spheres, and whites for the eyes and vampire fangs. I also applied subtle shadows to add dimension and depth to the drawing.

I continued to add character-specific details, such as the kunais on Venator Kinjo's hands, the beard and mustache details, and the red sphere necklace. I made sure to maintain simplicity and stylistic consistency with the Simpsons, avoiding excessive details.

I thoroughly reviewed the drawing as a whole, making adjustments to proportions, lines and colors as needed. I added finishing touches to make sure the illustration captured the essence of Venator Kinjo and his adaptation to the Simpsons style.

That was the process I followed to create my digital drawing of Venator Kinjo in the Simpsons style. It was an exciting artistic journey that allowed me to merge two different visual universes and capture the essence of the character in a unique way.
