WRATH OF THE LEGION (Splinterlands Weekly Battle - Legionnaire Alvar)
We see neutral monsters in many battles, but it seems that players are spending their fortunes on adding more neutral monsters to their assets list.
I think one day we'll have a complete edition of neural monsters ready to storm battle lineups. After the launch of Lux Vega, it is possible to make such a deck with all neutral monsters in Splinterlands battles.
Today, I am going to use a neutral monster called Legionnaire Alvar in my weekly battle. Even magic monsters fear this legend because he has very powerful armor and attack.
LORE
Legionnaire Alvar belongs to a chaotic force that ransacked most of Praetoria's lands, his real name is Alvar Veralyn, and he was a gruesome General of Chaos Legionnaires.
He did not join Chaos Legion at will but he was forced to join after his family was killed by Chaos' army. He was put into Chaos Army as a recruit, where he learned the ways of battle, mastered himself in the art of war, and conquered all the thick and thins of the training.
He was not only skilled in changing the course of the battle, but his legendary armor could also bear any magic attacks made to him. His fury left no enemy on the battlefield to stand against him, even the strongest of them fear his wrath.
LEGIONNAIRE ALVAR CARD SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Legionnaire Alvar card is found in Chaos Legion packs and it is a legendary card that rises to level 4, a fully upgraded card offers 4 abilities in total.

RULESET
STRATEGY
I tried to make enemy monsters weak by introducing a powerful summoner known as Immortalis. With his powerful sorcery, I got 3 advantages, -1 to the health of all enemy monsters, my monsters destroyed their armor in 1 hit, and lastly 1 less damage from magic attacks. Since this was a 99-mana battle, I had the flexibility to use high-costing cards in the battle.
The command of the army was handed over to Legionnaire Alvar, his Void Armor was thick enough to withstand the heaviest of blows.
Bramble Pixie was placed in 2nd position to use her Reach ability to attack the enemy's tank from the backline position.
Scavo Technomancer with magic attack held 3rd spot on the battlefield and he dropped some nice bombs on the enemies from behind with his Blast ability.
Psychic Goblin in the 4th position was aimed to heal the tank and also deal magic damage to any monster in the first position.
Disintegrator in 5th position was used to reduce 1 point of melee attack of all enemy monsters.
Suidae Shaman with Recharge ability stood in the last position to do heavy magic damage to any tank and taunt monsters.
Battle Video
The battle lasted for 3 rounds with intense damage dealt by my magic monsters. It is worth watching to understand the depth of the battle strategy.

BATTLE COMMENTARY
Shieldbear growls to Chaos Knight Fool, who brought General Sloan in a 'Broken Arrow' ruleset? Useless sorcerer he is.
Immortalis hits his staff on the ground and brings powerful magic to buff his allies with Void and Shatter, he also decreases the health of all enemy monsters by 1 point.
Round 1
Disintegrators from both sides use their demoralizing gaze to reduce 1 attack point of all melee monsters and here the battle starts.
Celestial Harpy slightly scratches Psychic Goblin, then a magic bomb from Scavo Technomancer explodes on Shieldbearer, and shrapnel scatters everywhere, Celestial Harpy who barely has any health gets hurt by them and eventually dies within a few moments.
Round 2
Having a Taunt ability sometimes makes you vulnerable to attacks from everywhere, the same thing happens with Shieldbearer.
"When I attack, I attack big, I finish the enemy, I make him pay with his life.", Suidae Shaman murmurs from behind and then throws a charged magic ball onto Shieldbearer causing him instantly lose all his health in one blow.
Goblin Shaman giggles and says "Chaos Knighty, naughty, naughty, take this magic zap.", Chaos Knight cannot stand against magic zap and falls to the ground with a lifeless body.
Round 3
Disintegrator stands in front of Alvar, but he barely has any strength to do any damage.
Technomancer throws a magic bomb on Disintegrator, but this time, it is Scavo Hireling who gets lethal fragments from the bomb which instantly kills him.
Goblin Psychic looks at Disintegrator with his cruel eyes and then hits him with a laser drawn from his ring, Disintegrator who is already shuddering due to weakness collapses to the ground.
"Oh! finally, I am able to crumble someone, what a joy." Bramble Pixie shouts in a happy mood.
Time Mage is surrounded by several vines around her, she tries to break them apart but none of her strength equals Bramble Pixie's tightening vines. As Pixie squeezes bone cracking sounds can be heard clearly, there is no more enemy left on the battlefield.
STRATEGY OUTCOME ANALYSIS
The strategy worked quite smoothly against Life monsters, but I feel that my opponent had not brought what he should in a 99-Mana battle. It seems that he hastily arranged his team and threw them before a powerful adversary.
Although, Immortalis made Legionnaire Alvar pretty tough against magic attacks by adding Void ability as a buff on all monsters. There was only one magic monster, but if there were 5 more, Alvar would have survived quite well by taking very little damage from magic hits.
The small magic attack by Scavo Technomancer has a big blast effect, he took 2 monsters this way. Bramble Pixie also did a good job from behind by dealing extra damage to tanks.
Goblin Shaman did very impressive attacks on enemy monsters, but we did not need his Heal ability as Alvar kept his armor intact and the battle finished earlier than expected.
Overall, a nice strategy to try in a few other high mana battles next time. I like Alvar and Immortalis combination against magic monsters.
