Cuidar de nuestras mascotas y proteger su salud es uno de los deberes indispensables para cada uno de nosotros como dueños de nuestro peludos (o no tan peludos amigos). Cómo ya sabemos existen infinidades de insectos en diversas especies que se agrupan sobre nuestros perros y gatos, estos pueden ser pulgas, garrapatas, ácaros, etc. Que afectan considerablemente la salud de nuestras mascotas volviendolas propensas a sufrir de enfermedades derivadas y además entorpeciendo su día a día.

Siempre intento ser lo más cuidadosa que puedo con mis mascotas, sus chequeos mensuales con el veterinario e incluso sus vacunaciones periódicas, pero últimamente me he dado cuenta que no todo el tiempo ello es suficiente, ya que mi pequeña Lulú se vio afectada grandemente por un brote de garrapatas aún teniendo todas sus vacunas al día, lo cual me hizo preguntarme ¿Estoy haciendo algo mal? Ya había inclusive agotado casi todos los medios, pues ni los talcos o champúes especiales me ayudaban a parar tal situación con mi cachorra.

Taking care of our pets and protecting their health is one of the indispensable duties for each of us as owners of our furry (or not so furry friends). As we already know there are an infinite number of insects in different species that group on our dogs and cats, these can be fleas, ticks, mites, etc.. They considerably affect the health of our pets making them prone to suffer from diseases and also hindering their daily life.

I always try to be as careful as I can with my pets, their monthly checkups with the vet and even their periodic vaccinations, but lately I have realized that not all the time it is enough, since my little Lulu was greatly affected by an outbreak of ticks even having all her vaccinations up to date, which made me wonder am I doing something wrong? I had already exhausted almost all the means, since not even the talcum powder or special shampoos helped me to stop such a situation with my puppy.

Teniendo en cuenta que Lulú es una cachorra Jack A-poo una raza que se caracteriza por su abundante pelaje, era muy difícil visualizar a aquellos insectos que se encontraban sobre su piel y combatirlos, así que pensé en que la mejor decisión sería un corte de cabello para poder manejar la situación con más control y tranquilidad, pues de tanto rascarse estaba cargando mucho cabello además se notaba como se irritaba su cuero cabelludo. Así que no hubo otra opción más que darle un nuevo look a Lulú.

Teniamos la cita en la peluquería prevista para las 8:30 AM y efectivamente a esa hora recibieron a Lula, tuve que irme ya que me avisarían en cuanto estuviese lista y me fue muy difícil irme y dejarla sola pero, yo solo pensaba en su bienestar y pronta mejoría así que intente no darle tanta mente a ello. La afeitaron, bañaron y aplicaron tratamiento Anti pulgas y garrapatas, también le cortaron sus uñas y cepillaron sus dientes.

Taking into account that Lulu is a Jack A-poo puppy, a breed that is characterized by its abundant fur, it was very difficult to visualize those insects that were on her skin and fight them, so I thought that the best decision would be a haircut to handle the situation with more control and tranquility, because she was scratching so much hair and it was noticeable how her scalp was irritated. So there was no other option but to give Lulu a new look.

We had the appointment at the hairdresser's scheduled for 8:30 AM and indeed at that time they received Lulu, I had to leave since they would let me know as soon as she was ready and it was very difficult for me to leave her alone but, I was only thinking about her well being and early improvement so I tried not to give so much mind to it. She was shaved, bathed, flea and tick treated, had her nails trimmed and her teeth brushed.

Al principio cuando la fui a buscar tuve un pequeño shock ajajaja porque honestamente no estaba acostumbrada a verla así, sentí que se veía muy extraña, rara o poco femenina. 😂😂 Tuvieron que sedarla para poder cortarle el pelo, pues ella estaba muy inquieta, entonces al llegar a casa seguía muy adormitada.

Luego de 2 horas aproximadamente volvió a ser la misma Lulú enérgica a la que yo estoy acostumbrada jajaja, y a pesar de que se ve un poco extraña con este corte la sigo viendo con los mismos ojos de amor, aparte he visto una notable mejoría ya no está infestada de bichos, con sus baños periódicos y productos especiales se ha logrado controlar la situación, y ella está más tranquila así que eso me da paz a mi.

At first when I went to pick her up I had a little shock hahaha because honestly I wasn't used to seeing her like this, I felt she looked very strange, weird or unfeminine. 😂😂 They had to sedate her to be able to cut her hair, because she was very restless, then when we got home she was still very sleepy.

After about 2 hours she was back to being the same energetic Lulu that I am used to hahaha, and even though she looks a little strange with this cut I still see her with the same loving eyes, besides I have seen a noticeable improvement she is no longer infested with bugs, with her periodic baths and special products the situation has been controlled, and she is calmer so that gives me peace to me.

Hace unos días me recomendaron una pastilla que sirve para combatir las garrapatas, tiene un tiempo de duración de 5-6 meses y su precio oscila aproximadamente entre 10-14$ así que creo que probaré pronto con el uso de esta pastilla pero, sin duda seguiré considerando el corte de pelo a Lulú al menos cada 4 meses ya que una de las cosas que note es que ya no bota tanto pelo como antes y eso para mí es un alivio, porque sus pelos estaban siempre en todas partes jajajaja. Hacer lo que esté en nuestras manos para mejorar la calidad de vida de nuestras mascotas, es uno de los actos de amor más especiales que existe. 💕😍 ¡Gracias por leer!

A few days ago I was recommended a pill to fight ticks, it has a duration of 5-6 months and its price ranges approximately between 10-14$ so I think I will try soon with the use of this pill but, without a doubt I will continue considering Lulu's haircut at least every 4 months since one of the things I noticed is that she doesn't shed as much hair as before and that for me is a relief, because her hair was always everywhere hahahaha.
