¡BIENVENIDOS A MI BLOG!

Winter? Although I know winter in a not so usual way as it is known in other countries (with snow) in my country, specifically in the state where I live we know that winter has begun because of the heavy rains, although snow does not fall, the sky does fall a lot of water which is sometimes a bit worrying, the cold is very present during the winter in my country but, it is nothing that a hot chocolate can not solve. However, since I was a child I have observed what winter is like in other countries with lots of snow! In fact, I have an aunt who lives in New York and she always sends us pictures of winter there and she has also told us that she has been trapped in her home when there are snowstorms that block the entrance to her house (that must be desperate for someone who suffers from claustrophobia). But, besides what I have seen in the pictures, there are a lot of films that have allowed me to transport me to those winters that are lived in countries like the United States, usually the movies of the Christmas season, although to be honest those movies that hooked me more strongly were the movies that involved ice skating, do you have any in mind?
Well, today I want to share with you one of my favorite movies, a movie that was an important part of my childhood and is the one chosen to participate in the #43 contest of this prestigious Cinetv community where we are encouraged to write about a movie that represents winter for us.
Well, when we talk about winter it is inevitable not to think about the cold, snow and ice, and it is in the latter that I am inspired today to participate here. The movie that makes me think about winter and that personally for me represents winter is called "Dreams on Ice" also known as "Ice princess" a Disney movie released in 2005, which is about a girl with a bright academic future but, who has a great love for winter and more specifically for ice, since ice skating becomes her true vocation. This girl has to fight many personal battles, but she always takes refuge in the ice to cope with every situation that affects her.
From this film I loved the determination and effort of the protagonist to get ahead despite the adversities, no matter how much she fell on the ice she got up and kept on skating, she never gave up; she trained, studied, worked and fought for her dreams despite having a mother who was not very understanding next to her. I also loved the perfect visual take that this film contains, because the icy landscapes glimpsed in it make you want to immediately hop on a plane to Toronto and walk around, photograph and enjoy them.
This movie influenced me in a positive way, year after year I could watch it every time it was aired and it kept transmitting the same message: don't give up! Demonstrating that no dream is impossible when you love it and have the will to fight to achieve it. I also became a loyal fan of ice skating, I could easily classify it as my favorite sport because it takes a lot of strength and delicacy at the same time to practice it, it is not easy at all and I admire the men and women who are dedicated to it professionally, I am always watching the Winter Olympics and I can spend hours glued to the TV just to admire those incredible routines that undoubtedly blow my mind (in a good way.)
One of the scenes of this movie that still sticks in my mind, is when Casey (Michelle Trachtenberg) is in one of the skating competitions, and during one of the breaks after performing a routine and waiting to perform another, she takes off her skates and has big blisters on each of her feet which makes her feel sore, and in recommended conditions she should not then return to the ice but, even with a lot of pain she put her skates back on and went out to the icy stage to conclude her participation. This is a great message for me, because in life we are not always going to find favorable situations and many times we will think about giving up but, we must have courage to go ahead and fight for what we want, sometimes with pain, sadness or stress but, this is what life is all about; to fight.
Dreams on Ice is an inspiring film loaded with many positive messages and teachings, also when you watch it, it immediately transports you to the winter season and makes you want to skate and make snowmen even if you are not in winter and it is a film that I recommend with my eyes closed. I hope you are encouraged to watch it and tell me your honest opinion, thanks for reading! And good luck to everyone.
XOXO💜

A film with a motivational and sobering message at the same time. Beautiful scenery
I agree with you, and that is that all the visual shots are beautiful. 🥰 I would love to experience winter that way.
