IT IS HARD TO CHOOSE A FAVORITE

It is quite hard to answer the question but If I was to answer the question, “What is your favorite food.?”I would say rice,I love rice and beans, jollof rice, and fried rice. Rice is one of the most common foods in my country, most precisely in the city, An average person would eat rice at least 4-5 times a week if not more and it also have it benefits

FRIED RICE: I love fried rice a lot, mainly because it has a lot of garnishing, fried rice is made with vegetables and liver or beef, sweet corn, and so on. It has a lot of benefits and it is just not nutritious but delicious.

JOLLOF RICE: Honestly, this is one of my best foods, I love the party jollof most, just to specify I love the ones prepared by ‘those women’ with their cast iron cooking pot.

Jollof rice is prepared using rice with well-seasoned tomato and pepper sauce, There is a war an argument that Ghana jollof is sweeter than Nigeria jollof or vice versa, hehe. Honestly, I can’t tell because I have not tasted Ghana jollof.

It always annoys me how some people spoil our beloved Jollof rice, the last time I went to Ikoyi, I decided to get Jollof and chicken, which was quite expensive because of the area. When I tasted the food, I felt like crying not because I felt like I had wasted my money but because it was a disgrace to our beloved jollof rice.

The rice I bought

This thought came to my mind that if someone who has not tasted the real jollof rice tastes this, how will they feel? It was like the curry was overshadowing the rice itself, even the chicken, I couldn’t even eat it, even my dad couldn’t, we had to give the dogs. I expected more from the “expensive area”, I trust my local canteens with my full chest.

RICE AND BEANS: I normally don’t like plain rice and stew I get bored of it, or beans but if I mix both it blends perfectly well with fish or egg. Whenever I eat this, it makes me remember waakye.

For the past few years, I have not eaten waakye, when I was still in secondary school I would always buy waakye from a Togo or Ghana woman as breakfast and take it to school even my friends would join me. I miss waakye. Since I don’t go to my school area anymore and I can’t prepare them. Although I bought waakye a few months back it was not like the one I normally buy. Just like the point I was trying to make, if I had not tasted the “real waakye” I would have said waakye is not delicious.

Rice and beans with fish

I just want to add this, because if not my favorite soup (Egusi) would never forgive me, it is one of the sweetest soup

egusi with goat meat

And of course, hehe, chicken.

First, I understand how it is. We eat rice so much. Jollof rice is the GOAT for me. It's so spicy and savoury, it has my heart. Then if you add creamed salad, let me not even talk. I've not yet eaten. Lol

And for the dispute between which is better, I'll know once I taste Ghana Jollof. Nothing beats that Nigerian taste though.

Sorry about the fact that you didn't get your money's worth but everyone knows that these high class restaurants don't serve the real deal.😂

I !luv your post so much.
