A Roller-coaster Ride
Happy and sad tears mixed tonight, why?
Being very impulsive gets me into trouble at times; so I fell hook, line, and sinker for the suggestion by Flowing River's to start a community for the retired.

Question time - are there many Silver Bloggers in full retirement, twiddling your thumbs? I think not!
The initial idea was that it could be a way to attract some of the oldies on the outside on board, but the realization hit that there are many well-matured Hivers and we needed our very own space to meet like-minded folk and share what we do in our Silver years.
Hubby is the one who has to slow me down at times, but he knows it's a hopeless task, as once I get going, there's no stopping me. I simply cannot help it, feels like I'm on a roller-coaster that will not stop until the job is done!
However, I would have been in deep trouble by now had I not roped in some of the most talented mature folk here on Hive.
You can read all about the very special people who have been part of the birth and growth of my very special Silver Bloggers and our 1st birthday celebration by clicking on this LINK,...yes it's safe to click on it, don't listen to your children warning you not to click links when it comes to this one!
So tonight I've shed some happy and sad tears, happy for the growth of the Silver Bloggers and my awesome team with the very best admin in Silver Flower; happy to be alive, but sad as it's exactly two weeks ago on a very dark blue Monday that our province literally was smashed and ripped apart by the forces of nature.
It seems quite surreal, as all is calm now, but the job of picking up the pieces is only now beginning!
I've spoken enough of that disaster, but cannot believe I'm now on day 25 of #Hiveblopomo, an initiative of the awesome bizzy Queen Bee @traciyork, asking us to write a blog a day for the month of April.
#Hiveblopomo has given me the opportunity to lighten the heaviness in my heart and get some of it off my chest and out of my head, so thank you Hive for this escape, and for saving my butt again.
I'm not happy about having to power-down for some RL issues that I will not go into now, those of you who have been reading my blogs, can read between the lines!
Let's just hope that last week's storm will be the end of all the calamities and life can return to normal, although it's not happening in Ukraine!
We can at least help the people of Ukraine in a small way by sharing a percentage of our post rewards with @ilysarazom, a non-governmental and non-profit organization who provides support to the victims of the Russian-Ukrainian war all over Ukraine.
Long live the Silver Bloggers!
Thank you one and all for the friendship and encouragement.

Well done to you!!! I didn’t know that you had foundered the Silverbloggers. You’re a legend! We had been planning a big roadtrip along the coast from CT to Durbs for July but I think we may delay it to October to give some extra time for reparations. It’s sad to see such devastation and I hope you will come right very soon. Sending love ❤️
Hi @zo3d, thank you so much for the kind words, but July really is the best time to come to Durbs because it's not our rainy season. The days are sunny and gorgeous; October can be dicey as the rain starts then. We had guests here for an entire week one October, and it rained non-stop!
If you do a road trip, it's worthwhile spending a day at Oribi Gorge (check out Lake Eland &

Hopefully the authorities get their act together and use the finance correctly!
You and your team are doing a sterling job with Silver Bloggers @lizelle, we are very grateful you have started this community to share our lives with.
It will only grow into success with you as the leader.
Thanks again for this community, I love it.
Thank you @artywink, it's an honour having you here and thank you & Pete for helping with the artwork when we were still Silver babies here on Hive ;)
You're so welcome @lizelle it's a great pleasure.
I join the celebration of this beautiful community, may it be the first year of many.
It's been a privilege and a joy heĺping you establish and build this community, Lizelle. May it go from strength to strength.
It takes courage, patience and strength to start up a community.
This sums up to the fact that you very strong and I admire your energy.
It would be good if life could return to a semblance of normality. For Ukraine who knows when or if that will be:(
