Perceiving the magic of the Floating Promenade in Havana [en/es]

Last weekend I had the opportunity to take a walk with my son and his wife to a place I had been eager to visit: the floating boardwalk. Despite having passed by it on numerous occasions, I had never gone to appreciate it up close before. Finally, the time came and it was a wonderful experience, I want to take advantage of this walk to join my friend @tattoodjay's #wednesdaywalk.

El fin de semana pasado tuve la oportunidad de realizar un paseo junto a mi hijo y su esposa a un lugar que había estado ansiosa por visitar: el Paseo Marítimo flotante. A pesar de haber pasado cerca de él en numerosas ocasiones, nunca antes había ido a apreciarlo de cerca. Finalmente, llegó el momento y fue una experiencia maravillosa, quiero aprovecha con este paseo unirme a al #wednesdaywalk del amigo @tattoodjay.
This Promenade was built 10 years ago right in front of the Alameda de Paula, becoming the first promenade in Cuba. As a sea lover, being near it fills me with joy and happiness, generating in me a series of pleasant sensations. Imagine walking 80 meters along this gigantic promenade that goes deep into the Bay of Havana.
Este Paseo Marítimo fue construido hace 10 años justo en frente de la Alameda de Paula, convirtiéndose en el primer paseo marítimo de Cuba. Como amante del mar, estar cerca de él me llena de alegría y felicidad, generando en mí una serie de sensaciones agradables. Imagínense caminar 80 metros por este gigantesco paseo que se adentra en la Bahía de La Habana.
This place is ideal for recreation, relaxation and family walks. Lovers and visitors of all ages walk along this ample structure with a big smile on their faces. To access it, it has four ramps, although I must confess that when descending them I felt a little afraid due to the creaking sounds they emitted 😳😳. But, they explained to me that this is normal, since it is a light structure that floats on the water, despite having its anchorages.
Este lugar es ideal para el esparcimiento, la relajación y los paseos en familia. Tanto enamorados como visitantes de todas las edades caminan por esta amplia estructura con una gran sonrisa en el rostro. Para acceder a él, cuenta con cuatro rampas, aunque debo confesar que al descender por ellas sentí un poco de temor debido a los crujidos que emitían 😳😳. Pero, me explicaron que esto es normal, ya que se trata de una estructura ligera que flota sobre el agua, a pesar de contar con sus anclajes.
The promenade is really spacious and although it was planned to be enlivened with benches and gastronomic options, the pandemic has delayed those plans. However, during my visit that didn't prove to be a problem, as the constant sea breeze makes up for it. Personally, I didn't feel it needed anything else, to me it's perfect as is.
El paseo es realmente espacioso y aunque se había planificado animarlo con bancos y opciones gastronómicas, la pandemia ha retrasado esos planes. Sin embargo, durante mi visita eso no resultó un problema, ya que la constante brisa marina lo compensa. Personalmente, no sentí que le hiciera falta nada más, para mí es perfecto tal como está.
I walked along the promenade for a long time, contemplating the sea that so soothes me. Although my mind is always boiling, the soothing effect of the sea calms my thoughts. I was also able to observe the different boats that pass through the Bay of Havana, an always active port. In addition, the promenade is located right next to the Muelle de Luz, from where you board the boats that take you to the charming overseas towns of Casa Blanca and Regla.
Caminé por el paseo durante mucho tiempo, contemplando el mar que tanto me tranquiliza. Aunque mi mente siempre está en constante ebullición, el efecto relajante del mar logra aquietar mis pensamientos. También pude observar las diferentes embarcaciones que transitan por la Bahía de La Habana, un puerto siempre activo. Además, el paseo se encuentra justo al lado del Muelle de Luz, desde donde se abordan las lanchas que nos llevan a los encantadores pueblos ultramarinos de Casa Blanca y Regla.
I was very happy to see the cleanliness and sanitation of the Bay of Havana, I remember that many years ago you could not be near the port of Havana without breathing the smell of oil and waste that flooded the entire bay, it was suffocating, plus its waters were always black, now the sea there looks blue as the one that borders the entire island, feel and appreciate that filled me with joy.
Me alegró mucho ver la limpieza y saneamiento de la Bahía de La Habana, recuerdo que hace muchos años no podías estar cerca del puerto de La Habana sin respirar el olor a petróleo y desechos que inundaban toda la bahía, era sofocante, además sus aguas siempre estaban negras, ahora el mar allí luce azul como el que bordea toda la isla, sentir y apreciar eso me llenó de alegría.
From this beautiful walk in the sea, we have a privileged view of the Alameda de Paula, with its imposing fountain. Afterwards, we headed towards the alameda and from there I also took pictures of the Paseo Flotante. They are really beautiful views that I want to share with you.
Desde este hermoso paseo en el mar, tenemos una vista privilegiada de la Alameda de Paula, con su imponente fuente. Después, nos dirigimos hacia la alameda y desde allí también tomé fotos del Paseo Flotante. Realmente son unas vistas preciosas que quiero compartir con vosotros.

Me alegra saber que el mar está tan limpio. No sabía de la existencia de ese puente flotante, me parece un buen lugar para dar un paseo ya que es una excusa para disfrutar de la vista del mar y sentir la brisa fresca 🤗
Así mismo es querida, fue un lindo y relajante paseo. Es normal que no lo hayas visto a pesar de estar en un lugar céntrico , no es de mucho paso , solo a una población específica , los que atraviesan la bahía en lancha si se deben deleitar siempre con su vista ❤️
