My Actifit Report Card: July 26 2024
My son and I played a difficult round of disc golf this morning. My son lost two discs, and I lost one. As a consolation prize, my son won the round with a +13 to my +16.
We were both a bit grumpy after the round at having lost our plastic. Mine might be found, but it is hiding just OB in some nasty bramble bushes. I was trying to impress the young ones, and that led to my downfall.
Usually, my nice new Halo Star Tern disc is relatively stable at the velocity that I typically throw it at. Unfortunately, I was going for a bit too much distance and throwing into a partial headwind. I watched as the disc turned and burned over to the right. On the plus side, I have a couple of other twelve speed discs that I can work into the bag but not in time for the tournament coming up on Sunday. Oh, well.

You have really got to stay on the fairway on this course. Usually, that involves not taking any unessisary risk.

We really had a good time playing and all in all, it was a good day. Playing with my son is always fun for me. Unfortunately, we lost some discs but that is a part of the game. On the plus side, I've got many discs I can cycle into my bag and have fun playing with as a replacement for the lost disc.
The "stray dog" from yesterday is my dog. His name is Doggie. He looks like a stray because he is floundering around in the stream.

Oh, that is a coyote. It is a wild animal that often is by itself. Generally, they are not dangerous to people.
A wolf, on the other hand, looks a lot like this animal. It is a lot larger and hunts in packs. A large wolf can be dangerous because they are a lot stronger and go after larger game. Generally, they leave people alone because unfortunately they have been hunted almost to extinction. Wolves are not a significant threat to humans but the ranchers don't like them because they can eat their cattle.

it's a shame that the hunting was done by humans who didn't think long, hopefully the preservation of nature will be maintained😊

This coyote is right at the edge of the fairway of the disc golf course we were playing a few days ago. He is the one that took my friend's disc but it was later recovered and returned to him.
And it's a good thing the disc was found again.

Congratulations on the victory you achieved with your son my brother, it's a pity that you have to lose the disc again, indeed sometimes playing disc golf is a little complicated with the way it is played, but if someone is a hobbyist, surely they are fun.
Even if you and your child lose the disc again, of course you can still have fun over today's victory.

I would really hate to lose a disc that seems to be flying good for me I can understand the reason to being grumpy...🙄
Grumpyness happens but it is hard to stay grumpy too long when you're really into the game. I have plenty of replacement plastic and the loss gives me an excuse to get new discs. The Tern has been a problem for me in the wind. I've lost a few of them and stopped throwing them for a while but might get another if I can find the same plastic. I have a couple of Tern discs on my shelf but I should probably give them away because they are so beat in that I don't like to throw them.

Sorry about the discs; hopefully someone finds them and you get them back. I can see why it might be difficult to find your son's disc; that's a lot to dig through!

Sometimes the discs do come back to you. All three of them are in a difficult place to search through. I've had friends who have had discs returned from near these areas so you never know.
It was a fun day to be out on the course and I always value time spent with my son.
The time spent with your son is obviously the highlight of the outing! I am sure you will eventually get the discs back, but time is more precious! Take care!

It's a bit sad to hear the words that you lost so many disc golf yet you always go out of your way to be with your son or make emotional contact. Great to hear about your activity and thank you so much for sharing it with us.
