My Actifit Report Card: December 31 2021
I did lots of driving again today going from Oregon to Washington. In general the roads were fairly passable but there was some ice in spots. At one point we were doing some fishtails down the road when a cross breeze hit us when we were going fast. It was loads of fun and I did manage to get control back in the car.
On the one hand if I was cruising in four wheel drive I might not have swerved all over the road. On the other hand I don't really like going fast in four wheel drive and I you lose control in four wheel it tends to be a bit harder to get back in control.
In any case we are home safely and my mom's house didn't burn down but she did lose a lot of tiles off of her roof from the wind. Our neighbor's niece did lose her house in the Colorado wildfires though. She was on vacation and came back to an empty lot. I feel really bad that she lost her house.
At least if your home when something like that happens you can try to save a few things that you really want to keep.
Hopefully people will try to do something about all the wild changes in weather we have been experiencing. It certainly was not like this when I was a child. I'm doing my best but it feels a lot like a hummingbird trying to put out a forest fire.

This was a really nice motel with a very good breakfast and they even had room for Doggie. We stayed right next to the exercise room and there was a very definite thumping noise coming from that direction. I personally don't like dredmills but each to his own. People were also talking very loudly in the halls but they did settle down later on in the evening when it was time for bed.

I am sorry about the Colorado wildfires, I am glad mum is okay and her house is okay too. I fee bad for your neighbor whose house is gone with everything in it.

I literally held my breath reading your story of your journey which was so happy and sad at the same time.
But it's nice to read and see the picture in the concluding paragraph that you have arrived home safely.
It sounds like an adventure out there, indeed in this weather everything we do outdoors looks like an adventure. I just hope wherever you're going to drive, I hope you arrive safely at your destination.

Oh wow ! Glad your Mom's house was ok.
That is terrible about the person being on vacation and coming back to an empty lot. That's so hard to fathom.

I am so sorry about your niece! That is a horrible feeling having your home and all your precious belongings gone. My heart goes out to her. Irreplaceable things like family heirlooms, pictures... so very sad, but, happy she is safe. Also very happy about your mom's house!
On another note, glad you are back safe, and yikes with being blown around on the road.
