The sad story of a small typical Bulgarian town
A local church that opens only on requests with a huge pile of garbage next to it on the street. Doesn't this speak loudly?
Abandoned old houses falling apart. Doesn't this speak loudly?
Cafes, on a business day, full of young and mid-age people who prefer not to work but to depend on national social aid? Doesn't this speak loudly?
Museum, closed during the weekends, of a famous poet. Doesn't this speak loudly?
Brushy stone thresholds of locked Renaissance houses. Doesn't this speak loudly?
A town, quickly depopulating of intelligent people moving either abroad or to the capital even during the pandemic when people return to their homes. Doesn't this speak loudly?
This is the sad story of the average Bulgarian town. This is a story of a country, where people have been thought to trust no one but only themselves. A "change" I've seen through two consecutive visits with a ten years span.
Today I edited my travel photos in a bit different, more moody and artistic (hopefully) way, just to illustrate my thoughts. I hope you like them, if not feel free to comment with criticism, all opinions are welcome!
You probably know by now how much I love Black & White or sometimes referred as Monochromatic photography. I have always believed that while Color Photography shows the external part of our world, Black and White Photography shows the soul, the inner hidden side of everything. Please consider the first photo of this post as my entry today to the established #monomad daily contest by @monochromes, supported by @qurator, thank you everyone for your hard and continuous efforts to build and grow this great community!
