To use the Photoshop pattern file:
Prepare your document in Adobe Photoshop. Make sure you have the Window Patterns palette visible. In the little hamburger menu on the Patterns palette, select Import Patterns ... Choose your tortoiseshell .pat file, click Open. Go to Edit Fill Pattern and select the tortoiseshell pattern. Adjust any settings to your preferences, then click OK.
