OVERCOMING WEIGHT CHALLENGES

Weight challenge is one challenge a lot of persons go through including myself, overweight, obesity and health challenges are due to weight challenges.

My doctor told me controlling your weight and preventing obesity reduces the risk of diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiovascular illnesses and even pcos.

I remember when I was at my biggest, it use to be difficult to walk long distance, I experienced a lot of back pain, ankle, leg and knee pains. It became difficult to run, dance and even sex was an issue.

I know I gained weight because I ate more calories than what I was burning with physical activity.
I had a very bad eating habits and I ate meals without paying attention to what or how much I was eating.

THINGS I REALIZED ABOUT HEALTHY EATING HABITS

(1) Dont skip breakfast
Breakfast is the number one meal of the day and it's very important

(2). Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables
My love for fruits really helped me during my weight challenge knowing that we get a lot of vitamins and minerals from fruits and veggies.

(3) Eat properly
Take a balanced diet and avoid junk.

(4) Dont go on for a long period of time without eating.
Starving yourself is very dangerous, I use to do that thinking it will help me lose weight but I discovered whenever I was ready to eat the meal it will be three times my normal size and I was adding more weight so I had to stop starving myself.

HOW I OVERCAME MY WEIGHT CHALLENGE

(1) I planned my diet
I went to a dietitian and got a meal plan and followed it.

(2) I was disciplined
I didn't cut corners, I obeyed everything written in my diet.

(3) I planned my meals ahead of time.
I didn't wait till I was hungry to begin to plan for my meal, if not hunger can make you eat anything available.

(4) I was physically active.
Exercise is very important when trying to lose weight.
You can start by just walking long distance, running, swimming, dancing, skipping. Just be physically active, it really helped me, I started by walking then running.

FINALLY
Our health is very important and it's high time we do all it took to be healthy by taking our health seriously.
