Friday Sketch
Since the page I'm working on in my sketchbook thus far has only female faces, I decided to keep it that way.
I was also again looking for an atypical face portrait.
You might notice a bit of a stylistic change in the last two sketches. That is because I used a different approach to starting the drawing and different drawing tools.
When I use my mechanical pencil, I prefer to construct the image by using placement lines. I also tend to work towards a less sketch like image and something a little more finely shaded.
Where as with the good old fashioned pencil, I simply sketch away and end up with something looser. What is the difference? The mechanical pencil affords me an ever fine point, and hence, ever fine details, where as a standard wooden pencil blunts over time, and hence I can't fuss about with details.
