2 New Threads Updates You Don't Want to Miss
The sooniverse is ever-expanding! We're developing at 10x speed on Threads right now. This includes a wide number of backend improvements as well as building the new LeoFinance UI which is Threads-Centric.
In this clip from the LeoFinance AMA, we talk about 2 new threads updates. These updates will (and have already) impact the current Open Alpha of Threads (https://leofinance.io/threads) and will also lead into our developments over on the brand new UI that we're developing from scratch as we speak.
A lot of this work is being done to create the best possible Threads experience while simultaneously making the Threads backend more scalable and reliable than ever before.
The architecture we're building for Threads is truly amazing.
Update #1: Carousels for Images
This update allows you to put your images into a scrollable carsousel. Twitter actually does a gallery view for multiple images, but I think our implementation is even better.
This hasn't been super noticable yet because we haven't deployed update #2...

Update #2: Separate Character Count for Links
This is something that twitter does and a very highly requested feature. We're working on it now.
When you post a link in Threads, it counts as part of your 240 character limit. This makes it hard to include text and links or even multiple links / images.
In our new update, you'll be able to post up to 240 characters for text and a separate 240 characters for links.

This is amazing, but we need it as soon as possible to solve the 240 chars limit. I reiterate one suggestion in order to make a seamless integration between Twitter and Threads and that is to make Threads the limit up to 280 characters same as on Twitter. This is making it harder to thread, so hope to see changes to solve this usability issue.

I think I need to rewrite my Leofinance onboarding blog posts to refocus perhaps on short form blogging.

This makes it more awesome than Twitter because some times, it sucks on Twitter when links are counted with other character.
