Introducing Refer2Earn | Onboard Your Friends to Hive, Earn Up to $50 Per Referral

As we near the end of 2024, the INLEO team has been wrapping up a wide array of work that we've been deeply focused on in the ladder part of this year.

We'll release several blog post from now until the end of the year talking about these things in detail. Today, we'll focus on the new Refer2Earn protocol that we've built for Hive.

This protocol is actually not brand new. We released it several months ago with a V1 basic release. Over the past few weeks, we started to roll out the remainder of the protocol. The initial release was a basic update to allow referral codes to be used.

INLEO has been growing like crazy in this last quarter of 2024. Much of this is due to all of the updates we've rolled out as well as the major partnerships that we've integrated (currently: Dash. Soon: Maya Protocol, Several Maya UIs, Thorchain, Rujira, Arbitrum Foundation and many more!). We're smashing all of our all-time high user metrics in terms of:

1. Onboarding new accounts
2. Retention rates
3. Number of Threads created
4. Number of votes/engagements on site
5. etc. etc.

The update brings several features into focus and rounds out the Refer2Earn experience on INLEO. This is incredibly important right now as we are onboarding a lot of new users to Hive. These new users have friends and we want to deeply encourage them to invite their friends and get active on INLEO & Hive.

Earn Up to $50 Per Referral

The two main questions about the Referral program are:

1. Where do rewards come from?
2. How do I earn up to $50 per referral?

The rewards come from our native token, LEO. We buy LEO off the market and fill the @leoreferral account with LEO. When a user goes to their Referral Dashboard, then they can click "Claim Rewards" and instantly claim their payouts.

One of the biggest onboarding problems on Hive is retention. How do you retain new users and encourage them to continually come back and stay active onchain?

INLEO has come up with a many ways to solve this problem. One of them is the Referral program. We designed the Referral program to have entrenched incentives for users to not only onboard their friends, but also track their activity and encourage them to be active.

How that works is very simple. If you go to your Referral Dashboard and click "How it Works", you'll see the following popup:

This popup explains the tiers for rewards. In order to get the total $50 payout, your onboarded user needs to be active on chain. The more active they are, the more you earn for that referral.

there is no time expiration on this activity. If it takes 1 year for your onboard to do all the above actions, then you will get the payout released over the course of the year as each milestone is hit in real time.

Referral Dashboard and How it Works

Your referral dashboard on INLEO looks like this. You can reach it through the side menu or by going directly to it, here: https://inleo.io/referral.

You'll notice a few key aspects and all of it is hyper self-explanatory. You've got your Referral Code and Referral Link toward the top of the page. You can also click the "QR" icon to generate a QR code for your referral link to have other users scan it in real-time or share the image of it over text, etc.

If you scroll down the page a bit, you'll see your Total Referrals along with the Total LEO you have earned from the referral program, the Unclaimed Rewards that you have pending (awaiting claim) and the Total USD value of all the Rewards you've ever earned from the program.

Below that, you'll see "How it Works" and "Claim Rewards".

When you have Rewards awaiting claim, you can click that button and instantly claim them to your Hive wallet.

You'll also notice a little orange icon to the right of the Total USD figure. This icon will auto-popup when you claim your rewards. You can also manually call it by clicking the icon:

Clicking it will show the "Share my Referral" screen. You can download the image, share it on X or just screen capture it and share it however you like. This is built to incentivize others to scan your own QR code on the image and sign up to INLEO.

It shows how much you're earning from the INLEO Referral program. Leverage this image to get more people to sign up using your own referral code so they too can earn referral rewards.

Beneath all of that is your Referral History.

Your Referral History will show you who you've onboarded, when you onboarded them and also their activity level. You can see how many Threads & Blog Posts they've made since joining Hive & INLEO.

This is incredibly useful for tracking the activity of your onboards, how much you're earning from each and finding ways to encourage them to be more active so that they can hit more milestones and you can get the juicy $50 per user payout.

Amazon Affiliate-Style Link Design

Outside of simply using your main Referral onboarding link (this link but with your own username: https://inleo.io/signup?referral=khaleelkazi), you can also share your Threads & Blog Posts from INLEO using the 3 dots icon next to any piece of content.

When you use this icon, something seriously great happens: we drop a 30 day cookie in the browser of whoever clicks on your link.

This 30 day cookie tracks your affiliate code. If they leave the page and come back to INLEO at any point within 30 days of clicking your link, you will get the referral credit for them getting onboarded.

This steps Share2Earn up to a whole new level. Hive has never seen anything like this before.

We modeled this program after the Amazon Affiliate Link program which has been wildly successful for growing Amazon's business and making creators tens of thousands of dollars per month in many cases.

To copy the affiliate-attached links is very simple: just use the "3 dots menu" next to any piece of content on INLEO. In the below image, you'll see how to get it from any Blog Post or Thread:
