In this day and age there is a lot of work using machines and getting both positive and negative views. But this time I will share the work of human power in my area.

Building Construction

The construction of our water canal this time is different from the usual large building construction because it doesn't use any machinery. My area is getting the money for the construction of new irrigation canals and the local people are working.

This water canal construction project has a budget of $ 10,000 if in rupiah it is RP 130,000,000, this fee comes from the state and to purchase materials it costs 8
$ 8,000 while for the remaining $ 2,000 workers.

The cost of this worker is for 20 people, so each of them will get $ 100 for 3 days of work, if we look at the USD exchange rate, it's very little, isn't it?; but if within the Republic of Indonesia the cost is large, around IDR 1,300,000, it can survive for 4 days.

Passionate workers

The workers on this project are very excited because they have also been unemployed for a long time due to the Covid pandemic. Many of them have had their jobs cut off from the company. I am here as a supervisor to see the workers are happy, I am also happy, here the average age of workers is married and have children.

By doing this project work they can buy household appliances and can buy children's requests so that the family can live comfortably.

The Work Strategy That Is Done

The work was carried out by distributing 3 groups and having their respective tasks. The first group consisted of 8 people whose job was to dig the old canal and the second group also had 4 people who had the task of making mold boards while the third group consisted of 8 people whose job was to mix cement for casting.

The casting of the water channel building is 10 cm and inside the cement using cobblestones. These rocks are purchased from other companies or all of these materials have been provided beforehand because to speed up work

People who have the power to dig up old canals because digging is hard work. If you do it, people with weak strength will get tired quickly

These workers are also chaired by a foreman so they don't make mistakes while working

My Contribution To This Project

And my job here is to make the work above, such as nailing wood, cutting wood and providing tools that are lacking for workers.

I do this very carefully because I also used to work as a builder, you could say I have little experience. But then I changed professions as a content creator, writer and regional journalist.

Making Water Channels That Are Ready

The manufacturing part meter by meter with the work going back and forth is ready, they make 20 meters a day but the finished parts have not been plastered which will be plastered after all the construction work is finished because the manufacturing process takes a long time while plastering only takes one working day.
