Hello @Trliste community my name is josky and i’m new to this wonderful community, though i am nigerian but i have interest in the turkey tradition since both tradition is somehow similar.

the tradition of men providing for the family and the woman being the one to take care of the home

in my yoruba tradition the man is also the main source of income but the woman can also help but the family monetary responsibilities mainly rests on the man while the home chores mainly rests on the woman and the children’ be it male or female, it’s a practice that has been for decades and is still relevant today, even though we now have many women that are also working to add to the families income because the economy is not friendly.

*i have also read books that points to turkish history and it’s kind of fascinating, i learned that turkey has been home to some of the most powerful empires in history, e.g the byzantine empire.

i also read a book of how of how a young man named micheal III assumed the throne of the byzantine in the mid-ninth century A.D., and his mother, the empress theodora

i have also learnt that in turkey they use almost if not the same pattern of getting married that tallied with the way nigerians wed because in nigeria many people do the religious ceremony where they go for the service then the reception before the legal ceremony or traditional ceremony which can be done another day*

one thing i admire most in turkey even though i have not been there is the architectural history, i would love for an architect from turkey to come work on my house if i am building one and i have the money.

i also know that tea 🍵 is also a big tradition in turkey.
i know i still have far more to learn but i will be glad if you guys will accept me into this wonderful community as your own,

thanks for having me
