Denpasar Moon 1990s Song By A Filipino Artist
Denpasar Moon
I returned to the place we used to meet
Denpasar moon, shine your light and let me see
That my love is still waiting there for me
I saw you standing there
Through the rain I saw you turn and smile
Were you waving to me
Through the rain I ran across the street.
But you were gone, there was no one
You had vanished with my dreams.
Denpasar moon, shining on an empty street
I returned to the place we used to meet
Denpasar moon, shine you light and let me see
That my love is still waiting there for me
But you were gone, there was no one
You were gone, flying homeward
You were gone, there was no one
You had vanished with my dreams
Denpasar moon, shining on an empty street
I returned to the place we used to meet
Denpasar moon, shine your light and let me see
That my love is still waiting there for me
That my love is still waiting there for me
Denpasar moon
This is the lyric of the song.
A Popular Song in 1990s
Maribeth Pascua was born in 1972. She won the Voice of Asia in 1991. Denpasar Moon was popular in Indonesia in 1992. Maribeth was very welcome in Indonesia, though she was a Filipino. Later, she decided to start her career in the entertainment industry in Indonesia. She released her new single, Born to Sing.
She also became a star in a TV serial on Indosiar in 1995. She broke up with her boy friend from Indonesia, Steven Rumangkang. In 2011, she was an actor in a movie. Simfoni Luar Biasa (SLB). The movie was starred by another Filipino actor as well. He was a Christian. Boutista.
Maribeth spent 22 years of her career in Indonesia. She also teaches music to young people in Indonesia. Sadly, her proposal to be an Indonesian citizen was rejected. After 2014, there was no news about her. She did not appear on any TV shows anymore. A rumor mentioned that she came back to the Philippines and opened a music school. Now, I think some members from the Philippines can answer my question.

Yes, the song was once popular in Indonesia, sometimes an artist has big fan abroad ,or an artist who is popular in his Country and popular out side his Country. This song in Indonesian is accompanied by many other genres of music, such as Pop Reggae, dangdut music. As the Indonesia singer is one of the Keroncong singers brought by Didi Kempot, the song one loved and liked by the Suriname Country, the Javanese people in Suriname.Thank you, like post.
1990s song has a lot of memories. thanks for visiting
She's got a beautiful voice. What an interesting piece of history, I never knew a Filipina moved to Indonesia and became a celebrity like this, that is very hard to do. What a bummer her citizenship was rejected, seems she earned it after contributing so much talent to a country not her own.
I do not know the reason why Indonesian government rejected her proposal for Indonesian citizenship.
