I consider myself a fan of the first installment of The Last of Us. For me this game enters my top 3 favorites and I think it is a masterpiece. Unfortunately, I feel that its sequel didn't live up to it and was a disappointment. To give you an idea, if I had to rate it, it would be a 5.5/10.
Me considero fanático de la primera entrega de The Last of Us. Para mí este juego entra en mi top 3 de favoritos y pienso que es una obra maestra. Por desgracia, considero que su secuela no estuvo a la altura y fue una decepción. Para que se den una idea, si la tuviera que calificar, sería un 5.5/10.
I still remember when I heard about the announcement of this game at E3. I had never felt so excited and happy about the release of a game. Unfortunately, then that excitement turned to disappointment.
Todavía recuerdo cuando me enteré del anuncio de este juego por la E3. Nunca me había sentido tan emocionado y contento por la salida de un juego. Lamentablemente, luego esa ilusión se convirtió en decepción.
I would like to start with the good things about the game. First of all, the technical aspect is excellent. Good gameplay, very realistic graphics, unbeatable music (composed by my Argentine compatriot, Gustavo Santaolalla). In this sense, there is an improvement over the first installment. Although this was almost mandatory. Since between both games there are 7 years of difference and one was released for Play 3 and the other for Play 4.
Me gustaría comenzar por las cosas buenas del juego. En primer lugar, el aspecto técnico es excelente. Buena jugabilidad, gráficos muy realistas, música inmejorable (compuesta por mi compatriota argentino, Gustavo Santaolalla). En este sentido, hay una mejora con respecto a la primera entrega. Aunque esto era casi obligatorio. Ya que entre ambos juegos hay 7 años de diferencia y uno fue sacado para Play 3 y otro para la 4.
The second thing to highlight are the flashback scenes between Joel and Ellie, which I loved. I'm talking about when Joel gives Ellie a surprise gift for her birthday. I thought it was really nice to see that close relationship, almost as if they were father and daughter. I liked seeing how Joel left part of that unfriendly and depressive personality he had in the first game. Like somehow Ellie manages to fill that void from when he lost his daughter.
Lo segundo a destacar son las escenas flashbacks entre Joel y Ellie, que me encantaron. Hablo de cuando Joel le hace un regalo sorpresa a Ellie por su cumpleaños. Me pareció muy agradable ver esa relación tan estrecha, casi como si fueran padre e hija. Me gustó ver como Joel dejó parte de esa personalidad antipática y depresiva que tenía en el primer juego. Como que de alguna manera Ellie logra llenar ese vacío de cuando perdió a su hija.
Positive points aside, it's time to talk about the bad. I HATED JOEL'S DEATH. Not necessarily because of the death itself, but because of the manner. A guy who in the last installment was distrustful, cautious and was able to kill half the world, became trusting and weak. I can't get it through my head that Joel was so soft and friendly with a group of people he didn't know. They nerfed him a lot so they could kill him.

Un tipo que en la entrega pasada era desconfiado, precavido y que fue capaz de matar a medio mundo, se volvió confiado y débil. No me entra en la cabeza que Joel haya sido tan blando y amigable con un grupo de personas que no conocía. Lo nerfearon un montón para poder matarlo.
And what made me most angry was that after Joel's death, we were forced to control the person responsible for that, Abby. By this point, I was pretty annoyed and had lost the will to play. They kill off the most beloved character in the game and then force you to step into the shoes of the assassin.
Y lo que más ira me provocó es que luego de la muerte de Joel, estábamos obligados a controlar a la persona responsable de eso, Abby. Para este punto, estaba bastante molesto y había perdido las ganas de jugar. Te matan al personaje más querido del juego y después te obligan a ponerte en los zapatos de la asesina.
The LGBT propaganda was unnecessary and annoying bullshit. It doesn't bother me at all that Ellie is gay. I knew that from the first installment and it never bothered me. The problem is that here the protagonist is a lesbian who gets her father figure killed by a girl with a body outside of beauty standards. Now she goes on a revenge quest with her bisexual girlfriend to kill the other one who is now taking care of a trans guy. There is an excess of forced inclusion that bothers me.
La propaganda LGBT fue una mierda innecesaria y molesta. No me fastidia para nada que Ellie sea homosexual. Eso lo sabía desde la primera entrega y nunca me inquieto. El problema es que acá la protagonista es una lesbiana a la que una chica con cuerpo fuera de los estándares de belleza le mata a su figura paterna. Ahora va en busca de venganza junto a su novia bisexual para matar a la otra que ahora está cuidando a un chico trans. Hay un exceso inclusión forzada que me molesta.
This is not all. You have to add the scene where Joel defends Ellie from a guy who makes homophobic comments. And the scene where Ellie and Dina live together raising a Baby. Plus that in some parts of the game, they stick the damn LGBT flag in.
Esto no es todo. Hay que sumar la escena donde Joel defiende a Ellie de un tipo que hace comentarios homofóbicos. Y la escena donde Ellie y Dina viven juntas criando a un Bebé. Más que en algunas partes del juego, meten la maldita bandera LGBT.
Lastly I want to mention the ending, which was the most unsatisfying of all. Ellie spent the whole story killing and destroying people to avenge Joel. So that by the time she's about to end the life of the main person responsible, she regrets it and lets her go. Literally, it was a disgusting ending. And I think this is the biggest difference in quality between the first and second installments. In one, the ending is legendary. In the other, the ending is pathetic.
Por último quiero mencionar el final, que fue lo más insatisfactorio de todo. Ellie se pasó toda la historia asesinando y destruyendo personas para vengar a Joel. Para que en el momento en que está a punto de terminar con la vida de la principal responsable, se arrepienta y la deje ir. Literalmente, fue un final asqueroso. Y creo que esta es la mayor diferencia de calidad entre la primera y segunda entrega. En una, el final es legendario. En otra, el final es patético.

No he jugado esta parte de este juego, solo he visto sus gameplays, pero si habia jugado su anterior entrega, como es posible que hagan un cambio tan abrupto en la mitad de historia del juego con respecto a Joel, una persona que tiene una percepcion aguda y lo quiten de la manera mas forzada, no eres el unico que piensa asi. Pienso yo, que si quieres hacer un final a Joel como es debido por lo menos hubieran hecho que lo hirieran y el estuviera luchando todavia junto con Ellie hasta el 85% de la historia con esa gravedad. Joel le dedica unas palabra o se sacrifica para que Ellie sobreviva, es ahi donde vendria un desarrollo de personaje correcto y vieramos un desarrollo de historia un poco mejor y un final no tan feo y ahi veremos una tercera parte buena. Eso es lo que pienso. Sera un poco Cliche pero es mejor asi.

I haven't played this part of this game, I have only seen its gameplays, but if I had played its previous installment, how is it possible that they make such an abrupt change in the middle of the game's story with respect to Joel, a person who has a sharp perception and remove it in the most forced way, you are not the only one who thinks so. I think, if you want to make a proper ending for Joel they would have at least had him injured and he was still fighting with Ellie until 85% of the story with that gravity. Joel dedicates a few words or sacrifices himself so that Ellie survives, that's where a correct character development would come and we would see a better story development and a not so ugly ending and then we will see a good third part. That's what I think. It will be a bit of a cliche but it's better that way.

Creo que de todas las maneras en la que podían quitar a Joel, eligieron la peor de todas. Hasta diría que fue de manera humillante.
Es más, hasta creo que era más lógico que muriera Ellie. Sacrificándose para encontrar una cura. Hubiera sido un buen pinal para este título.
Ahora espero que no se animen a sacar otro juego.

Se especula que el creador de este juego hara una tercera entrega con otros actores principales. Y pienso que, haber hecho esas acciones con esos 2 personajes en el desarrollo de la historia no fue para nada bueno.
