I am a consumer of this anime and enjoy it, but I am starting to believe that this series is a comedy and a good one.
Soy consumidor de este animé y lo disfruto, pero estoy empezando a creer que esta serie es una comedia y de las buenas.
I tell everyone I recommend watching Baki the same thing, "this anime is for watching without thinking too much". Don't get me wrong, I like this series, but I consider it not to be taken too seriously. Occasionally unintentional humor occurs and sometimes things happen that don't make sense. But still, I'm eagerly and eagerly awaiting the next season on Netflix.
Yo a todo el mundo que le recomiendo ver Baki le digo lo mismo, “este animé es para ver sin pensar demasiado”. No me malinterpreten, me gusta esta serie, pero considero que no es para tomarla muy en serio. En ocasiones ocurre un humor involuntario y a veces suceden cosas que no tienen sentido. Pero aun así, estoy esperando con entusiasmo y ansias la próxima temporada en Netflix.
To help you understand me better I will give a couple of examples. On one occasion a character named Katsumi manages to make blows that break the sound barrier, blows that exceed 1234.8 km/h. and he did this only by imagining that he can bend his bones to imitate a whip. We can also see how Biscuit Oliviva is hit by a meteorite and practically comes out unscathed. We can see muscular children, 140 year old martial arts masters and how Yujiro is struck by lightning and doesn't even flinch.
Para que me entiendan mejor voy a dar un par de ejemplos. En una ocasión un personaje llamado Katsumi logra hacer golpes que rompen la barrera del sonido, golpes que superan los 1234,8 km/h. y esto lo hizo solamente imaginando que puede doblar los huesos para imitar a un látigo. También podemos ver como le cae un meteorito a Biscuit Oliviva y prácticamente sale ileso. Podemos ver niños musculosos, ancianos de 140 años maestros de las artes marciales y como a Yujiro le cae un rayo y ni se inmuta.
Another thing that amused me was the beginning of Pickle's arc. They had discovered one of the greatest discoveries of mankind, a man from the Cretaceous era. And all our protagonists wanted to do was fight him. 😅
Otra cosa que me causo gracia fue el inicio de arco de Pickle. Habían descubierto uno de los mayores hallazgos de la humanidad, un hombre de la era cretácico. Y nuestros protagonistas lo único que querían era pelear con él. 😅
To this we must add dialogues that are the art of comedy. Like when Baki meets Pickle for the first time and says, "Fuck, that's beautiful. I knew it, it's exquisite." I don't know if it only happened in the Latin dub, but it's a scene that always gets a laugh out of me and the best part is that it lends itself to many memes.
A esto hay que sumar diálogos que son el arte de la comedia. Como cuando Baki se encuentra con Pickle por primera vez y le dice “carajo, que hermosura. Lo sabía, es exquisito.” No sé si solo pasó en el doblaje latino, pero es una escena que siempre me saca una risa y lo mejor es que se presta a muchos memes.
Another dialogue that I love is when Yujiro is talking to Doppo and tells him that he is in love with his son Baki. I repeat, this series specializes in unintentional humor and lends itself to many memes. I don't know if it is worldwide, but in Latin America when the last season came out, the Internet was full of funny memes.
Otro diálogo que me encanta es cuando Yujiro está hablando con Doppo y le dice que está enamorado de su hijo Baki. Repito, esta serie es especialista en humor involuntario y se presta para muchos memes. No sé si sea en todo el mundo, pero en Latinoamérica cuando salió la última temporada, Internet estuvo plagado de memes divertidos.
I think this anime is unique in this sense. Apart from giving us epic fights like Baki vs. Yujiro, it gives us quality comedy and humor without breaking the mood. And for me this is worth a lot and it is appreciated.
Creo que este animé es único en este sentido. Aparte que nos regalan peleas épicas como la de Baki contra Yujiro, nos da comedia y humor de calidad sin romper con el ambiente. Y para mí esto vale mucho y se aprecia.
I hope the next season, which I don't know when it will be released, will be as entertaining and funny as the last one. And if you haven't seen Baki, I recommend it. More if you are looking for a simple plot and meaningless fights. For those moments where we want to enjoy without thinking too much, this series is the one.
Espero que la próxima temporada que no sé cuando saldrá, sea igual de entretenida y graciosa como la última. Y si no vieron Baki, se los recomiendo. Más si buscan una trama simple y peleas sin sentido. Para esos momentos donde queremos disfrutar sin pensar demasiado, esta serie es la indicada.

It started with a straight up revenge story that ended with the author no longer wanting to push the show in a darker direction and just let it be meme fighting material. I just dropped the series during the Chinese fighting tournament.

I didn't know that fact. It makes sense, the beginning of Baki as a kid was more serious, so to speak.
It changed the anime, but I still enjoy it in a different way.

STOPI'm really not a fan of this series. Honestly I find it hard to dedicate some time to it, maybe it's all that humor that I don't like and also because of the fights, which are very poorly worked. In my life I've seen many martial arts anime where the technique is embellished, I like that, but in Baki I don't see any of that.
Although as you say, a series not to think too much... I'm the opposite, I love to think.

Speaking from total ignorance, doesn't he look a bit like Kengan Ashura? - I don't know if you've seen it but it's a fighting anime that puts a lot of comedy in it so at the end you don't know what you're watching. For example, I liked this one, so I might give this one a chance, I've heard it a lot but I haven't seen it.

Yes, I totally confirm. There is a resemblance between the two series. So much so that there will be a cross over between Baki and Kengan Ashura.

Con la cantidad de memes que le sacan a baki podría ser una comedia fácilmente desde fuera jajaja, lo cierto es que yo la he visto poco a poco y honestamente me gustó bastante pero no es de mis favoritas, pero siempre roza lo irreal y eso la hace chistosa de cierta manera 😂
